Unfortunatlely, it was after I already submitted $248.00 to Infinity Incentive Group that I researched the company and found similar stories to mine:
I was given a "complimentary" getaway vacation in the form of a voucher from Goldrush Getaways in exchange for sitting in on a 90-minute presentation. I completed and sent via certified mail on 4/29/09 the Voucher Activiation form along with two money orders in the total amount of $248.00. In response, I received by mail a Travel Request form, which requested three travel dates, in order of priority. After submitting three proposed travel dates as requested, a letter was sent to me indicating that the requested dates were not available. In response, I called Infinity to find out the available departure dates and was told by representative “Kay” that she “didn’t have that information.” I explained that it didn’t make sense for me to continually propose dates that are subsequently not available. To continue on this course would mean that Infinity could continue to say that the dates I proposed are not available until the offer expires. This would mean that Infinity would have received my payment of $248.00 for a cruise that I never was given an opportunity to take. Rather, I asked that she provide me with available dates and that I would accommodate that schedule. I again asked “Kay” if there were any available dates in October and she responded that all of those dates were booked (even though she had just said she didn’t have any information on the dates) and that because I was “new in the system, ” it would be difficult to locate an available date for me. I then asked if there were available dates in November – Kay said that she didn’t have that information. After sensing my frustration with the call, “Kay” attempted to offer me an upgraded 4-or 5-night cruise for an additional fee of $150 per person (double occupancy required) and that she could give me an exact departure date for the upgrade in October (which is odd because she couldn’t give me dates in October for the cruise that didn’t require an upgrade fee). I told her that I just wanted the complimentary standard 3-night cruise that I was offered. Kay said that the cruise was not complimentary, in other words, it was not free and that I needed to read the Terms and Conditions. I then told Kay that according to my paperwork from the sponsor Goldrush Getaways, the cruise was given as a “complimentary getaway” in exchange for sitting in a 90-minute presentation. Kay again said that the cruise was not free and that if I wanted to, I could request a refund.
After researching Infinity in greater detail, I realize that I am only one of many who have attempted to schedule trips with your company as a result of a “free” or “complimentary” vacation package and was never able to take advantage of the trip, even after Infinity had received the port charges, etc. It has become quite clear that Infinity ’s practices are extremely unethical and borderline illegal. There are hidden fees and misleading information contained in the Terms and Conditions and the representatives are extremely rude. I am currently requesting a refund and I will post the results.
