I purchased their refurbished unit Phantom 999 for $210 ($45 shipping included) expecting it to be plug and play device for digital programming. Unfortunately, without registering this unit it is not capable of receiving ANY digital signals and analog programming will be over in a month. I explained the sales person that I am looking for the source of HD signals for HD-ready TV. This unit IS NOT capable of producing HD signals under any circumstances. After registering with your cable company it will receive unscrambled digital signals (HD or SD) and DOWNGRADE them to analog output. The best video output you have is S-video, no HDMI no DVI, no composite.
When you will decide to follow money back warranty, you will get RMA authorization, pay $40 for shipping and end up with $120 money order, because they will subtract $50 for damaged plastic bag and Styrofoam. At the end I paid $250 for the unit and sending it back and received $120 money order (may be they do not want to disclose their bank account or they do not have one).
