So in late 2008 I had a website Idea and placed a posting on craigslist for want of a Web Designer for my site. A sales rep contacted me and put me into touch with the owner, John McGovern. He claimed he had 10-15 years experience in PHP, html and whatever. He made it seem like it would be a hassle free, straight-forward design and he could have it done in no time. We even met at a local coffee shop to discuss the site and he sounded like he was the right guy for the job.

My mistake was that I gave him the usual up front payment and it was $1000. Once he received that he all of a sudden became hard to get a hold of and he never really did anything that I couldn't do to my site. This went on for asbout three months of me calling him and him not responding. He said he was busy with a lawsuit against a guy who never paid him but since when does a lawsuit over a payment discrepancy consume your entire week?

So after about six months I finally got a hold of him and told him he was fired and wanted at least the majority of my money refunded since he obviously was never going to finish the site. That was the last time I was able to get a hold of him. Now I am out $1000 and never got the website completed so stay away from this company.
