Rip-off
Our business is located in Miami and we were doing business with innovative merchant solutions for a few years, during that time, we have been charged more than what the contract mentioned in the agreement, finally after a few years we have decided to switch companies because we couldn't take it no more, and they charged us $295 termination fee, on top of that there was a chargeback for a small amount of $26.+ which we provided all the proofs of the customer that is signed for the charge however even though the chargeback refunds were approved, the representative told us we have to wait 270 days to get the refund from the chargeback requested to speak with a supervisor and when we were transferred without the voice mail and that happens on several occasions. If you want to deal with a bunch of thieves open an account with innovative merchant solutions, good luck.

Fraudulent Charges - No account approval
In January 2009 I was considering starting my own business and attended an e-commerce business seminar held by a company called Auction Teacher. Several hundred people were in attendance. At the end of the seminar a business package was offered to help start and develop an e-commerce web site. Included in the package was the Auction Teacher e-commerce website with help to develop and maintain the site, also in the package was an application to obtain a merchant account, and a telephone system.

After a month I realized that the Auction Teacher setup would not work for me since their software was based on PC/Microsoft Windows computers and I use Macintosh computers. I contacted Auction Teacher and they canceled my service and gave me a refund. No business was created or conducted. For the time I gave up on the idea of having my own business.

About four months later I started receiving charges on my bank account from Innovative Merchant Solutions. I never received any notification that my application for a merchant account had been approved. I contacted Innovative Merchant Solutions and informed them that the charges on my account had surprised me since I had never been informed about my application approval nor had I given them any financial information or authorized any charges to my bank account.

The representative I spoke with said his name was Mark, and he looked up the account and said he would cancel it for me and refund the charges. However, over the next couple of months the charges continued.

I again contacted Innovative and this time spoke with a man named Leo. I asked Leo his last name and was told that for security purposes and company policy that he couldn't give me his last name. I informed Leo of my earlier conversation with Mark. Leo indicated that there were no notes in my record of the conversation. He said he could cancel the account but there was an account termination fee that I had to pay.

This is the first time anyone mentioned to me a cancellation fee. Back in January when I signed up for the business package with Auction Teacher no mention was ever made of any termination fee. Leo said he would have to transfer me to someone else to discuss the termination fee. Leo then transfered my call to a woman named Melissa.

I spoke with Melissa and again related the entire story, I also asked her for her last name and was given the same response as Leo regarding giving out last names. She told me I needed to write a letter of cancelation and either mail it or fax it to her. I did this. She also mentioned the charges to my account would be refunded and that the account termination fee would be waived. Some charges were refunded to my account.

However the charges to my bank account continued for a few more months. I informed my bank of the entire situation and they reversed the charges and put a stop on my account to any future charges from Innovative Merchant Solutions.

Finally mid-year 2009 it appeared that everything was cleared up and taken care of with regards to dealing with Innovative Merchant Solutions. Fast forward to one year later, here it is mid-year 2010 and I started receiving calls from Innovative that I owed them for the cancellation fee and charges that they tried to bill to my bank account.

Does this company not know what goes on within it's walls? I've been contacted three times over the last few weeks by three different people about paying the cancellation fee and other charges. Each time I've related the story previously given. I've been told that there is no information in my account regarding previous contacts or having any fees waived. And now they are threatening legal action. I received a letter from someone named Al Sherman who lists the title Litigation Manager under his name.

In conclusion, I've been charged for services NOT received. Innovative Merchant Solutions Never informed me that my application for a merchant account had been approved. They charged and removed funds from my bank account without authorization, I never gave them my bank account information. How they managed to obtain my bank account information and levy charges without authorization appears to me to be fraudulent and criminal.

Do not use them! If you need a merchant account go to your local bank they will offer service superior to Innovative. Wells Fargo, Bank of America, US Bank, Chase, others; none of whom have any account termination fees. All who do business in a straight forward business manner.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES
I would highly recommend not using this company for any credit card processing. I recently had a charge back to my account. I have been in the process of disputng the charge back. I talked to IMS this morning @ 9:30 am and they told me I needed more documnetation to dispute the charge back. We hung uP and by 11:30 am they debited the full amount out of my account. This unauthorized debit put my account into the negative as well as charged me extra fees through my bank. I called right away, and they responded with, "Let me be honest, we are not reversing the charge, you need to deal with your bank" So I did, I filed a claim with my bank to have the funds reversed because they never had authorization to debit from this particular account. DO NOT USE THS SERVICE!!! THEY TREAT THEIR CLIENTS HORRIBLY!!!

Indefinately Holding Funds
I am a jewelry designer and I participated at a jewelry show where I used Intuit Merchant Solutions to process credit card sales using their online terminal. They have charged all of the customers cards and have received the funds, but they are withholding the funds from me. I have gone back and forth on this matter with them and they are refusing to release the funds. The customers have been charged and they have the products, but I have yet to receive the money, and I'm not sure what step I should take next. It has been over a week now and when I call or email it is very difficult to receive a reply and they never give me any indication when and if I will get the money.

DON"T USE THIS PRODUCT!

I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau, and the Federal Trade Commission in hopes of retrieving my money.

In the past I used paypal's virtual terminal and never had an issue. The only reason I switched was to integrate my credit card payments with Quickbooks. What a mistake.

It's been 1.5 weeks now and they are still holding my money.

Bad service
Incredible!! this is one awful company.. We made a charge the charge went through on the customer's end. Innovative Solutions is still withholding our funds. When asked why they say they want our customer to call them.. Our customer is traveling and is not even from the U.S. The charge was accepted by Amex but is being held.. Why? because this is our first charge?? Huh? I cant even get anyone to assist me. I assume they prefer to keep the money for as long as they can. So, now we might lose this sale. I have called everywhere and no one at that company even cares. They all sound like they are either uneducated or just plain arrogant.

Poor service, illegal fees
Innovative Merchant solutions practices what to me are illegal practices. I was with them processing for 3 years, at which point I realized we could not easily figure out what their true monthly charges were because they were charging us a bill each month, and then we see they are also charging separately additionally for each daily batch. I communicated with them several times, asking them to stop borrowing money from us and bill monthly like other processors do. They refused to change this practice which caused us much confusion, and more than one over draft fee. When I was not able to get a response from them, I quit with them and went with another service which I am very happy with. Then they take a $295 fee out of my checking account to close the account, after 3 years of paying them. Luckily I caught this and put a stop loss on the charge. This fee is charged in perpetuity, it turns out, you could be with them for 25 years and they claim you owe them $295, even if they do not provide satisfactory service. IN PERPETUITY- that is forever. This was not explained by their salesperson. NO ONE WOULD DO BUSINESS with this company every, nor should you. Wouldn't you to charge people who were unhappy with your service nearly $300 for them to stop doing business with you! Only someone with no ethics would even think of such and unethical business practice. AVOID INNOVATIVE MERCHANT SOLUTIONS!!!@

Misrepresentation and fraud
I see others have complaints about this company. All I wish to say is that they misrepresent their services and blatantly lie when selling their products. If I can prevent one person from using them it would make my day. They really have a scam going here because once they have your bank account set up it's basically impossible to stop them from fraudulently taking your money. I tried to resolve my issues with them but they were unwilling to stand behind what their sales people say they are going to do. If someone from the company wants to speak with me they can email me at [email protected]. My dispute was relatively a small amount of money. It is just the principle of lying that bugs me.

Worst Company in the History of History
I'm not in the habit of complaining...I'm a small business owner and understand that, sometimes, things go wrong and as much as we'd like to, you can't satisfy everyone. With that said, Intuit/IMS have done more than enough to make me feel obligated to detail my experience in the high hopes of deterring anyone who might be considering utilizing their services.

I have never dealt with a company that was as apathetic as IMS. Because they are the only merchant solution available if one is using their Quick Books POS system they seem to have (or think they have) a fairly stable foot hold on majority of small businesses. This attitude comes through loud and clear when speaking with their representatives.

I would encourage anyone who has been approached by IMS or is looking into them to head a different direction.

Misrepresentation
We are having a similar problem to others here. Salesman Travis Fox promised us great service with no committment, no cancellation or equipment fees if we just filled out the application for approval. We also never used the service, never even opened the terminal, cancelled in writing as requested, and they charged us the 295 cancellation fee that Fox said didn't apply. On the phone with Mike Sweco, ext. 60112, he said he wouldnt even consider a refund without a statement from Fox admitted that he misled (lied) to us.
Don't get anywhere near this company, they support their sales people in lying to obtain contracts!
