Once you are hired and you pass the background check they have you sign an agency contract, once you sign the contract they start appointing you with different carriers through them, which you will ultimately represent. Should you at any point decide to leave this company, you cannot do any business with any of the health and life insurance companies they assigned you with for a total of six months based on the contract you signed with them. This means that if you find something better you are stuck and if you leave you are out of business for six months and you will have to jump through hoops after six months to get re-appointed and do business with the companies you were appointed with.
