Same issues as I've read all over this site...I called the HQ Executive care, with concerns on their 200meg per day limitation on customer downloads. I have the option to upgrade to 500meg per day but this does no good for my purposes.
I purchased a Roku Blu ray machine to stream netflix movies into my house. An 1-1/2 hr movie is about 1.5 Gig. This means that I cannot watch movies with their Fair Internet Access policy on my machine, except between 1am and 6am. Not many families enjoying Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at 3 in the morning.
Do not sign up for Hughesnet if you want to stream movies or anything over 200meg to your computer in a 24 hour period, unless you plan on doing it between 1-6am. China dictates to their people when they do everything.
This is only going to get worse for Hughesnet as a company, as streaming TV, Video, Movies, Music and the world will soon be travelling more and more over these bandwidths...Invest some capital and do what is necessary to keep up with 2010...and do some planning for 2011 too.
