withholding information
I have been receiving phone calls "inviting" me to a dinner for Interval International timeshare owners. I've requested that any information that will be given at the dinner be sent to me by email or snail mail. I am being told that sending written information "is not the way that they do it." The last time I met with an II staffer, he wanted a check for $3k and when I refused said, "boy is my boss going to be mad at me." Doesn't inspire confidence, does it? So, can it be legal for a company to withhold information from owners in this way? After talking to a couple of people, multiple times, I'm still completely in the dark regarding what this company wants of me. I don't have a mortgage on this property and pay my annual dues on time. Does anyone know anything about this group? Thanks Crystal [email protected]

Harassment
My Time Share is not worth what I currently owe on it. I do however continue to pay my bill monthly. Even though I never miss a payment, Interval International harasses me constantly. They call five or six times a day and email me. I have complained to three supervisors to no avail. The staff is rude beond words. They sold me a bill of goods, a worthless Time Share. I need more people to complain about this horrible company.

Not a Complaint Just Comment
This is Not a Complaint Just A Comment
First of all do you all realize that an exchange is based on other members giving up there units as well. With the economy being in the shape it is people are not traveling very far from there homes. They are not doing the exchanges the way they used to.
II can not make inventory appear that is not being given to them. Hence the Getaway inventory. This is developer space not part of the exchange inventory. It is offered to give the members a chance to travel and stay at resorts not hotel rooms for an affordable price.
Also if members would actually take the time to read their terms and conditions and use the helpful tips that are given the system might actally work better. The other thing is you can actually research the resort that is being offered before you make a 100% commitment to exchange or purchase a getaway. The internet is a wonderful tool and you can then see if the resort is up to the standards you desire.
II can only offer the members what is available and give any advisemnts that are available. It is still up to you to do the research for your vacation.
As far as the costs go... Let us face facts... Everyone had had to increase their rates accross the board. What once was will never be again. The memberships that are being offered to you are created to actually try and save you some money for the long term.
The agents that answer the phones are not magicians but people. A lot of them really do care about the members and will go the extra mile to help where ever they can.
Although I do agree that customer service accross the world has depreciated and things are becoming way too automated. Please try and keep in mind that the agent you speak with might actually really care and want to help you. Also try and be realistic about your expectations on what you think you are owed. Your membership fees at II are not in the thousands as a matter of fact a 10 yr membership is under $1000.00.

Lack of Customer Service
I am less than impressed with Interval's responsiveness. I just inherited property and recently completed transfer of the deed. Now I am trying to get the Interval ownership rights transferred and can't seem to get any help. When I call, I keep getting bounced around and the voice prompts ask me for my membership number, which of course I don't have because I can't get anyone to help explain the process of transfer. Their email customer service people tell write that they can't make outbound calls to help people. How ridiculous is this? It more than frustrating! And they claim to have the best customer service in the industry? HA!

failure to keep agreement
Interval International failed to keep their word that they would notify us and provide 24 hours to accept a trade of our time share. We have lost our time share week as of this date. They said it was a computer error but they refused reinstate our week.
They sold our week to another person.

Timeshare Exchange
Interval International
6262 Sunset Drive
Miami, Florida 33143-4843
Post Office Box 431920
Miami, Florida 33243-1920
In Jan 2008 i
called Interval and got Ken his extension is 8555. I asked for the
best hotel in Hawaii for exchanges and where i could also purchase
"get aways"for others traveling he said Resort Quest Waikiki Sunset.
They have a lot of "inventory" for exchanges and it would only take
less than 30 days to confirm my exchange. So i purchased over 4000.00
in getaways from Interval via Ken. Time passed no confirmation,
Received many calls trying to see me membership for longer time frames
and i would ask about my exchange and they would say not confirmed.
May 31 2008 - finally got back in contact with Ken - he said "he
expects my exchange to be confirmed any day now". 14 June almost 6
months later and several more conversation with Ken, I spoke to Gennie
in Customer Relations - She said they they don't exchange with this
hotel and they are not sure why the agent ken put me on the path with
this hotel, it may have been for the getaway sales, however they
seldom ever have an exchange with this hotel. I called ken back
relayed this to him - he said do not talk to that department again
just talk to him and he will get this fixed and get my exchange - I
will get you on the PRIOR TY WAITING list. He asked me to call back 17
June - same day I called to customer relations and asked about the
PRIOR TY Exchange list they said that that there was no Priority
anything list. I ask for a supervisor - i got Helen Gray ext 8725.
Left a detailed message. She called me back and said that Gennie was
new and should not have gave me that information and they do exchange
with them, I asked about the Priority list and she said they was no
priority list and i told her Ken told me about it, she put me on hold
and came back and gave me a priority list confirmation #. I questioned
the intergerty of this saying there is no other list and now they are
a list and she said that she would personal work this and get it
resolved and she would call me a keep me posted. 17 june spoke to Ken
he said he could not help me because i was on some kind of black list
and only Management Helen gray could help me, he said he does not know
what is going on.
I called and left voice message with Ms Helen Gray 20, 23, 24, 26 June,
with home and cell numbers, no return call. 26 June i spoke to Carla
ext 8251 after going through the whole story again she to said I need
to get a supervisor for you because we don't exchange ever with them
and that they could exchange but they is never inventory and she does
not know why i was recommended this hotel. 26, 27 June left Voice mail
for helen gray - no return call. 27 June also spoke with Carla again
and she said sorry not confirmed and forwarded me to helen's voice
mail.
11 July spoke with Garfield related my story and he checked no
inventory i asked if they can exchange there he said yes they can i
ask do you exchange there he said they can, i asked when when the last
exchanged there he said he did not know...Was advised 11 July by
Garfield that helen grey was out and ext. 8231 Bobby Dilla was the
supervisor i could speak with left two message no call back. I asked
if the there was anyone higher i could talk to he said no, this was
the highest office for any help.
I have come to beleive Gennie was telling me the truth because she was
new and new no better...and that i was lead to buy non refundable
getaways on false exchange information.
Desired Outcome - Room Exchange 24-31 July 2008 at Resort Quest
Waikiki Sunset with the rest on my guest for the 139.00 exchange fee
already paid.

Poor service!
Have repeatedly tried over the years to book in Hawaii with interval international. they never have availability... the one time they got me in it was an old condo in a bad part of town.also, they start bugging you for your yearly fee 5 months in advance! I've tried once more and complained... They are terrible. Do not join this service... It's a rip!

Timeshare use!
I have a trade with Interval International for 2 years. I have tried 3 times to get someplace I want to go. Upon our 3rd attempt to use the trade, the customer service staff told me I am on priority list and gave me a priority code in September 2007. As we approach the date, I cannot get customer service to respond to emails, I am now on hold for 45 minutes with no customer service rep responding, it keeps bouncing me between rings and music.
It is the worst customer service.
