poor product/horrible customer service
We purchased an above ground metal framed pool from Intex and it was riddled with holes! When we patched them and filled the pool it collapsed and almost killed my children! Customer service is terrible and offered zero support!

leaking air tube
we have had a intex pool and replaced the pool under warrenty last summer . intex would not help but did say they were aware of issue . the air tube would develope dry rot cracks and start a never ending air leak from diffrent areas on the air tube through the cracks . it was a daily fix sometimes several times a day trying to patch so it could continue to hold air and not loose about a foot of water . each time we would come home or check on it and find the tube flat and water lost . i have spent about a hundred dollars trying to seal leaks on first pool then now again on the replacemnt . now i have had blow out from the cracks and have no idea how im going to seal it this time . tried to call intex again and was told yes we know of issue but it is past the 90 days and to take it back to place of purchase and see if they will warrenty it again . we also had pump issue and purchaced the bigger pump from ebay . that has been ok since . i really dont know what to do the way it is i have rigged the scimmer to work and the air tube is flat . loved having a pool but i dont recomend anyone to buy anything from itex . i am really thinking of contacting an attorney about intex pools . i think this pool should last not every year have to replace or have continious defects . (and these are defects that they stated to me they are aware of but i see do not stand by there product at all)

PUMPS NO GOOD
WE R SO TIRED OF MESSING AROUND WITH INTEX. WE R WAITING ON OUR THIRD PUMP . FIRST WORKED FINE FOR A WHILE WE PLUGGED IT IN ONE DAY AND SMOKE CAME OUT CALLED INTEX THEY SENT OUT ANOTHER, THIS LASTED MAYBE 3 TO 4 WKS. CALLED INTEX WE HAD TO SEND IT BACK AND PAY FOR S & H $25.00 NOW ITS BEEN 3 WKS NO PUMP YET . CALLED THEM 10-11-10 THEY SAY THERE OUT OF STOCK DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE IN. NOW WE ARE REGRETING BUYING FROM INTEX AND SHOULD HAVE PAID A LITTLE MORE AND WENT TO A REAL SWIMMING POOL BUSINESS. SEEMS LIKE THEY DON'T WON'T TO STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCTS.

tearing liners that flood yards
I have purchased my 3rd Intex pool this summer. The first day of filling the pool it burst the seams open flooding my yard and basement. Intex sent me another pool liner which we starting to fill 7/26/09 and on 7/27/09 the same exact thing happened. After calling customer service and waiting for the next available customer rep for 15+ minutes the result is the same. Cut the pool up and send back to Intex and wait 2 weeks for the liner to arrive. After explaining that I just did this and the claim was closed and I have to wait 2 weeks for the liner at a cost of $17.98 in mail. Totally unexceptional! I am hoping the store I purchased the pool from will give me my $487.00 back even though on the pool box states to send defective parts back to Intex. Intex will not reimburse me I have to go to the store of origin.

Impeller in pump
I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH SUCH RUDE AND INCONSIDER PEOPLE WHEN TRYING TO GET A REPLACEMENT PART. MY WARRANTY IS OUT AND I NEED A SIMPLE CHEAP PART BUT THERE OLNY SUGGESTION IS TO SPEND A COUPLE HUNDRED DOOLARS AND BUY A COMPLETE NEW PUMP. WHAT A JOKE, NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANYTHING FROM INTEX POOLS AGAIN.

Safety issue & waste of money!
Company refuses to change tubes that dry rot and won't even last through 1 pool season so every year new tubes have to be ordered! I upgraded to bigger pool with same problems. The last straw was my pool was only on it's second season & came apart at seams, flooded my yard and killed all my grass! How safe can it be when 1 minute your kids are having fun laughing & then boom - the pool empties, your dumped on the ground & no more fun. The company brushed me aside without replacing it, crediting me or a discount on a new one. What a waste of money!!! This company has poorly made products & does not care 1 bit about it's customers - whether new or loyal customers of years!

Horrible customer service
I purchase a new pump for my pool and it lasted only two weeks. Intex replaced this pump with another and it lasted only three weeks. Intex then insisted that I ship back the defective pump for a replacement which I did at a cost of $25.00 for shipping. I requested that a supervisor contact me so I could discuss what options I had to avoid a third replacement and the associated shipping costs. Their customer service department will not allow me to speak to a supervisor and that I would receive a call from a supervisor within 24 hours. It has been four days and no one has called me and still the customer service department will not allow me to speak to a supervisor. I think that Intex makes a good pool overall but their pumps and customer service are very questionable.
