Fees
I made 2 phone calls from Bucks lake, CA to San Anselmo, CA using my credit card. Normally these calls would be $1.00 in quarters but I ran out of quarters. The sign on the pay phone said to dial a number to use your credit card. I was charged $16+ each for the 2 calls I made. This is ridiculuous!

overcharge (extreme)
2 calls (May 2, 2011):
1st: wrong number (less than 20 seconds)
2nd: about 2 minute call to alert pickup that I was at the Delta baggage claim
Each call billed on my credit card at $36.87 for a total of $73.74.
I am furious at this flagrant theft at a major public airport.

Exhorbitant charges
Made a collect call from Seekonk, MA to Bristol, RI lasting one minute. They charged me $17.58 for that one minute. How are they allowed to get away with that? I will be filing a complaint with the FCC about them.

Exorbitant pay phone charge
Made a pay phone call and hung up BEFORE the call was answered at the other end...and was still charged for the call. The next morning, made a call and talked for 6 minutes. Cost - $42.74. That's over $7 per minute. Rip off.

$10 per minute calls from payphone
I made 2 phone calls from a payphone in Dallas Airport to my home in Florida. Each call was ONE minute or less and I was charged over $20.00. This is an OUTRAGEOUS CONSUMER GOUGING! I called the company (800-226-2606) and filed a complaint. I was told that I should of dialed (00) to ask for a rate quote. They did offer me a 50% refund which I accepted. However, I feel this company should stop it's Consumer Gouging Practices. I am going to follow-up by reporting IOS to the Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org) and the Federal Trade Commission (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/consumer.shtm). I encourage everyone who has been GOUGED to do the same.

overcharge on phone call
I used a phone in Disneyland to contact someone I was to pick me up and take me to LA. I used my credit card as I don't think there was anywhere to put money. My friend didn't even answer so I left a quick message to tell her I was in USA and would phone her tomorrow. That s all I said. I have just received my credit card statement only to find out that the 20 second call I made cost me AU$16.52 which I think is overly excessive. There was nothing to tell me that this call was going to cost so much more than any other public telephone.
This is robbery!!!

Christine Wood

Having made a collect call home and that call being no more than five minutes in length, the charge that shows up on the credit card is for $40.54. Outrageous!
