IQ Data called me at my place of employment on the very first attempt to reach me when my personal home and cell phone number were given to them by the original debtor which was my apartment complex. I advised them that I cannot receive phone calls at work. I then called them back on my break and attempted to make arrangements with them. I was told that unless I paid the balance in full they will involuntarily take payments from me by garnishing my pay check since they reached me at work. I advised them that I am attempting to pay them but they are refusing any payment. I was then told that I cannot steal from them and they will take payment they see fit. I called back and asked for another representative. They put a supervisor on the phone who I then agreed to 6 payments of $100 every two weeks. I advised I would mail them a check. They refused to give me an address and if I didn't pay by debit card with a $10 fee then it would be considered refusal to pay and they would proceed to take money from me "involuntarily". and Oregon is a 75% garnishable state. I advised that I am trying to give what I can afford and agreed to the debit card payments with the fee. The very next day I received a phone call at work from the company again asking me to settle the debt for a lesser amount. I advised them again that it was absolutely not okay for them to call me at work. The harassing called continued every morning between 8am-8:15am sometimes they would hang up when I answered an others they would just place me on hold. I called on several occasions trying to work out a payment arrangement or get an address to mail payments to. Each time they refused and said they do not have to accept payment from me via check and my only option was to use my debit card. I was then told that even if I send them a check it is not considered a voluntary payment and they will proceed against me.
