Credit Report has not been revised since Jan.2010
I rented an apartment with Visconti for 6 months from Sept.2007 to Feb.2008 but I moved to Bay Area in Jan. 2008 before my lease expires. I paid the 2 months eventhough I was not living there and left a note that I was gonna leave that I wrote in a sticky note and I even told the manager (Nelson Bennett) that I was gonna move to the Bay Area but will come back in February to get my stuff which I also said in my note. When I came back in February, there was a new manager and Nelson was gone and they said he moved to a different apartment. I spoke to the new manager on the phone because I was gonna leave the keys and left a note again that I wrote in a paper.
After a few months, they called me and said they are not giving back my deposit and I still owe them a month of rent for not giving a 1 month notice before I leave. I called them and gave Nelson's number but I could not get hold of him after several attempts calling him. So obviously I was in a dilemma and I ended up owing them 1, 200+ and I did not get my deposit back.
I wanted to go to small claims court because I really never owe them anything and it was not my fault but I was in the Bay Area and the hassle to go to Southern California and the money I'm gonna spend is not worth it. There was a company named IQ Data, on their behalf that kept calling me and wanting to collect the money. They send letters that if I pay half of it, it would be solved and it would be removed from my credit report. I paid half of it so it would be removed from my credit report. Since then until now, it is still in my credit report and had not been removed. Until now, as of July 18, 2011 there's another company calling me and collecting the money which I said I already paid.
As of this day, 18th of July 2011 my credit score is low because of them and even though I paid them through that company IQ Data they have not removed from my credit report. I paid for something I never really owe and the hassle they have caused me. Right now, I cannot get out of my apartment because no apartment would accept me because of them. They screwed my credit report for something which is not my fault. IQ Data never removed this from my credit report. They are liars that just want money.
I want to sue them for this trouble they have caused me that affects my life right now because I cannot move to a different apartment and I cannot buy a house. I have always paid my rent on time and my credit score was always 750+ but because of them they ruined my credit standing.
I have attached the letter they sent me to settle this amount that in reality I never really owe. I paid $566 last year January 2010 just to clear my credit report but they never did.

Harrasment
As a currently unemployed third party collector I can first of all say that I know the laws and what can and cannot be said during a collection call by a third party collector. IQ Data International has been repeatedly harrassing me regarding an overinflated bill due to an apartment complex I recently had to move out of due to unemployment. My best friend also moved out of this apartment complex before his lease was up and he was never even sued. The apartment complex has my roommates phone number yet not one harrassing phone call has been made to him, only to me. I was told by the representative at IQ Data International that I was witholding information by not giving them his telephone number when the apartment complex already has it. I requested proof as to why my collection amount was so high and, of course, this information was never provided. With the knowledge that I possess about third-party collection calls and the laws I am on the verge of suing not only IQ Data International but the apartment complex that retained them as well. In my opinion, if you are contacted by this collection agency do not speak with them and immediately call an attorney.

that I owe them 2, 062.00 for things which they had to such as to evict me for that cost, there was no lawyer no court prcceedings at all.Plus I paided my rent one month ahead of time so thet got all my rent money and now they want more blood.

Collection Agency
Out of the blue, I get a letter from IQ Data International stating I owe nearly $3000 in back rent to an apartment complex. Problem - I never lived there, never co-signed for anyone who had, never even heard of the place. I called IQDI and after bouncing around through 3-4 people, two cities and two states (Everett and Seattle, WA, then to somewhere in Arizona) I finally get hold of a 'rep' who informed me that after I was evicted from this complex, the debt was turned over to them for collection. After patiently repeating the phrase 'This is a case of identity theft' every time he tried to get me to 1) admit the debt or 2) say I was disputing the amount, he finally said "Call your former landlord" and get them to say I'd never lived there. I repeated they were never my landlord and asked if HE had the contact information, as it wasn't on their collection letter. He gave me a phone number/address and politely hung up. I called the number and it was a second, totally different complex. I did some web sleuthing and found the first complex, called them, got a letter from them stating they'd never heard of me, got a letter from the second complex stating they also had no record of me living there, called 'Manuel' back to let him know I had the letters, and had filed a police report for identity theft, and would he give me the name/address of whom I should send these to? He said I needed to fill out a 'form' and return it to them before they could do anything - it wouldn't do me any good to 'just send in the letters' as that wouldn't automatically 'clear the debt', and he promised he fax it right over. I waited until the next day -- called him again to confirm he had the right fax number. After he assured me he had sent the form 'well over two hours ago', I thanked him, hung up and called an attorney. It was worth the modest investment as I haven't heard a peep from IQ Data International since then and my credit reports remain unmolested.
Moral: If it isn't your debt, DENY DENY DENY- don't 'dispute' and thereby accidently validate the debt, if not the actual amount... and it helps to speak softly while wielding an attorney's business card.

Harrassment
IQ Data Int. Keeps calling me and calling me harrassing me. The best part is, I dont even owe the debt to them. My best friend does, but because she put me down on a reference for something, they have my number and keep calling me to tell me that I need to tell her to call them, or that she needs to get this taken care of. How is this my business? I was not a co signer . This is pure harrassment. On top of it I know they are calling her mother too. Though it is none of either of our business.

evil people
im dealing with Beoncia..aka bitch from hell. she calls and says i owe 5400 and its due in a week and a half...yeah not gunna happen. so i ask for her to send me some kind of paperwork showing me this bill, she tells me she doesnt have too, and then she tells me(after we argue) that she doenst even have to accept my money!!! can you believe that, then she starts threatening me with legal actions and all this crap, but all i could say to her was is if i dont have a bill in my hand i dont have to believe one word of what she is saying...she could be making this number up for all i know!?!
i was very relieved to have found this page where others have had similar experiences, i called the BBB, FTC, and the Attorney General, they all confirmed that she was way wrong and is way out of line.

RUDE
This rent collect collection agency is rude and demeaning!! They won a judgement against me and the Judge even said that they are willing to make payment arrangements with you. I called the next day to make the payment arrangements and Dale was very rude and was only willing to go from 25% garnishment to 20%. I told him that I could not afford that and he said that he was not a finance company and that I owed him that money!! First of all the money was not owed to them, it was owed to the apartment complex that hired them. I then called the old apartments and told the manager of the complex how their collection agency was handling this matter and she was even appauled!! I told her that if he did not honor my voluntary wage assignment that I would just file bankruptcy and then they would get nothing!! Just beware, if they say they will make arrangements with you, they are liars and will leave you even more in debt than to begin with!!

identity fraud, extortion
i recently applied for a home mortgage when i learned that IQ data international turned me in to all 3 credit beauros for non payment of $5370 to wood hollow apts in san antonio, tx. Although i've never received a letter or phone call from anyone, I explained to the company that i've never lived there and they have the wrong person. IQ told me i needed to prove to them that it wasn't me, so i did though fax. I was then told by them that I was out of luck, and there was nothing they could do about it. After filing a police report, i learned there were 2 people with my exact name living in san antonio. I want this company put out of business.

Harrassment and Unauthorized use of unlisted, unpublished cell phone numbers
This company called my home phone number seeking my younger son, whom hasn't lived here for years. They also called me on my work phone, leaving a voice mail while I was out of town last week. The same day they called my eldest son using his unlisted, unpublished cell phone number, again to find my younger son.
It seems to me that I'm being harrassed for something my younger son may or may not have done. Additionally, isn't it illegal for them to 1) find, use and call an unpublished, unlisted cell phone number of someone they "suspect" is a relative; and 2) to call me on my cell phone (my work phone)?
I think this is a pretty shoddy practice and if it isn't illegal, it's borderline. I've called these people back and asked them to remove all our numbers and to cease contact. They'll have to find my younger son on their own.
