Unable to book tatkal ticket online
The issue of slowness in irctc web site during 8:00 am is very well known and lots of people have already raised this issue through different media but there is no action taken from govt. side. I just wanted to ask a few things to govt. officials whoever is taking care of this web site,
1. What is the need of agents and a separate web site for them?
2. Why can't we stop cancelling the general tickets or to take 80% of the ticket price in case of ticket cancellation? This will stop the agents to not to hold too many tickets and then cancel just before the chart preparation.
3. Why irctc does not upgrade the infrastructure? Why don't they forsee the possible traffic in peak hours and then take the necessary measures? why don't they think that this site is one of the most visiting site and max. 100 crore may login on to it simultaniouly.
4. I heared that IBM is ready to upgrade the infrastructure and even ready to setup TWO WAY booking facility but govt does not want to take out TATA, who is mainting this site currently.

Please do the needful in TOP priority as there will be more and more passengers will be travelling in train in future and hence the upgrade on railway online booking facilities in timely fashion is very much important.

TDR refund
I have filed TDR on January 14 2010 still now i didn't get my refund as policy they have to refund in 90 day. when i have contacted them they told they have forwarded to railways they have to refund to it is almost 11 months(334 days) after filing date

Railway Reservation- 'No coach/seat' provided in train against my Confirmed Reservation Ticket
I, Mr. Dipak Sen booked an Confirmed E-Tkt on 131-Up / SDAH MFP Fast Passenger from Sealdah to Durgapur as on Journey date 06-09-2010 against PNR No. 6346403464 and Trasaction ID : 0248383157 from my a/c of IRCTC on line Tkt reservation system. Further my Booking status : Confirm; Coach : SL1; Seat No.: 11/WS. But to my surprise, at the time of boarding in the train, I found that 'There is NO Reservation Coach/ portion of a Coach whre I can get my Reserved seat to do the journey. I also informed the matter to the On-duty Guard of the Train, but found a more helpless condition of the person who informed me that 'The said train is running with ONLY GS Coaches and No Reserved Coach or porion of a Coach to find my Seat against which I booked the Confirmed Tkt from IRCTC. The Guard, certified the fact on my Electronic Reservation Slip with his signature & date with the endorsement " as per VG, all GS coach".

Now, as a result of the above situation, I had to take a lot of Tension, time loss and Pain to reach to my destination, i.e., Durgapur by alternate means making huge unexpected expenditure and moreover I had to suffer a lot in respect of my Service by not being able to report on Duty prior an All India Strike Day having my responsibilities of being an Executive in an India Govt. Enterprise.

Therefore, I do hereby request you to do the following at the earliest, please.
1) Refund my reservation amount for which I was not provided any Reserved seat against my booking.

2) Intimate me the Reason behind such an unexpected, unwarranted harrassment with an bonafide passenger on 'Indian Railways'.

3) How the IRCTC authority is going to Compensate towards my 'LOSSES' in respect of Money, Time and above all damage to my Service due to the above stated situation.

I expect that, the Concerned Authority would respond to my Genuine complaint within a reasonable and justified time and take the Proper measures to Compensate the Victim of 'non-compliance of Promised services after taking payment for the same'

DE ACTIVATING MY USER ID REGARDING
with out any prior information my used id to booking and cancelling irctc train tickets have been de activated for no valid reasons.

i have booked tickets and need to take print outs and need to cancel my tickets. just to save our time only we are utilising these services and i am the customer of them since three years.

i am really very much disturbed by thier activities and irresponsible way of cutting down things.

The modified side Upper berth is so inconvenient that i couldn't slept whole night and suffered a lot
I travelled on modified Side upper berth in the sleeper class from bandra to Bhuj. The middle berth from side was removed after complaints from travellers but the side upper berth is remain in its modified position and it is located at farmost top position. This was very inconvenient during travelling for me. I requested again & again to TTC to allocated me a seat in 3AC/2AC but fail. the modified side Upper berth is so inconvenient that i couldnot slept whole night and suffered a lot. After paying 506/- fare of sleeper tatkal reservation how can a person expect such kind of suffering from this facility of Railway.

Indian railway is the perfect example of irresponsible government department where no one seems to accountable or concern of customer complaint
While booking the ticket (on 6th April 2009) the on line berth status from Jaipur to BDTS was shown available and from Ajmer to BDTS it was 11 waiting. So to get a confirm ticket I booked from Jaipur to BDTS (which was shown as available) and boarding at Ajmer. This transaction has cost me Rs. 26/- extra fair per head, since it was from Jaipur to BDTS and not Ajmer to BDTS. But when ticket was finally generated it has allotted me waiting number starting from 11 in spite of charging full fair from Jaipur to BDTS.

I have been shown confirm seats at time of booking of ticket but when finally ticket was generated after payment, I have got waiting number. Infact seats were available even after booking the ticket, so why your system has generated waiting number on my ticket has not been look by your department till now. This is the perfect case of fraud under Information Technology Act 2000.

I had immediately emailed the above described complaint but except for acknowledgment I have received no response from rail official and now nearly one month has passed.

Indian railway is the perfect example of irresponsible government department where no one seems to accountable or concern of customer complaint in spites of several communication I have not received any response from railway. My several attempt to communicate to customer care service over phone call has prove infructuous, the personnel only want some how get rid of call instead of resolving the matter.

I have called up at their office and e-mailed 5 or 6 times but i haven't got back the amount
I booked a Ticket through www.irctc.co.in and the train was cancelled so I tried to cancel the ticket online.But as the chart was prepared I was unable to do so.So I e-mailed at [email protected] to cancel the ticket.And I was expected to get the amount credited to my account after 90 days. But since then I have called up at their office and e-mailed 5 or 6 times but i haven't got back the amount.

Passanger has not travelled due to train delaed more than 6 hours. I have filed TDR on April 3, 2010, after more than 2 months on 14th June, I have received mail from IRCTC saying that refund is not possible because as per records passanger has travelled on her alloted berth, which is wrong information and cheat with passanger. kindly consider my request and try to give me justices so that I can get our full refund.

IRCTC showing wrong ticket availability status
Hi,
I frequently book my railway ticket from IRCTC's(indian railway catering and tourism corporation limited)(www.irctc.co.in ) Online Passenger Reservation System which provides booking facility of Railway tickets online
I always book my tickets 2 to 3 weeks before my journey. but most of the time whenever I try to book my tickets online through IRCTC, it shows ticket availability status in Waiting, but after 1 or 2 days or even on same day, If I go to railway tickets reservation station, I always get confirm tickets.
I found that on web site they always show not available or waiting status, even if tickets are available. And even when status is not available or RAC ro in waiting, I go to agents and they also give me confirm tickets

Please Look into this matter.

cancelled ticket redund not received
I have cancelled a E-ticket with PNR no. 2404967925 & transaction ID. 0197674895 on 14/05/10.
Although, IRCTC customer care, Internet Ticketing vide mail dtd.17/05/10, informed that an amount of Rs.4020/ has been credited to HDFC Bank, but till 7th June it was not been credited to my A/c. As desired by them, I have attached a scan copy of the Bank statement to them vide mail on 8th June, 10.
Although, they have sent the auto acknowledgement ( Re: IRCTC # 1166979 and IRCTC # 1170306), but nobody is giving any reply to actual position/ details, where they have credited the refund amount i.e. the name of the Bank and its debit card or credit card account, which will enable me to locate/ trace the fund with the respective Bank.
I am also trying very hard to contact them over phone, but all their nos. are continuously busy.
In this situation, I have no other alternative but to approach your goodself to sort out this long pending issue at the earliest.
