scam
I got an email from some 3rd party anonymous organization or company offering FREE gift cards to WALMART for participating in their on line survey. I thought...easy enough, right?? I then went on to read the terms and conditions. They then said that i had to complete a total of 13 offers from various companies and manufacturers. 2 in the 1st category, 2 in the 2nd, and 9 in the last category. Well, one of those offers was for a "FREE SAMPLE" or "FREE TRIAL OFFER" of this product from "IVORYWHITE." I can't remember which, "SAMPLE" or "TRIAL OFFER", but I know "FREE" was mentioned. I then get about 15 calls in the next 2 days from every one of those companies offering their products and services. When the rep from IVORYWHITE called, she said I would only be charged the initial $1.oo for the shipping and handling, and would receive the product in about a week. I received it about 10 days later. When I checked my bank statement the next day (after I received the product), there was a charge for $78.41 from IVORYWHITE. I went to the bank to dispute the charge and call IVORYWHITE to ask why I was charged the $78. I thought I could have the purchase refunded. The rep on the phone said that they couldn't refund it since the package was delivered and signed for. Then she said that the "terms and conditions" (which were a mile long) stated that I would be charged the $78.41, and I had a week after the order was placed to terminate my account and not to receive any further charges (in addition to the $1.00 for shipping.) She also said that a confirmation email was sent to my email address stating everything we had just discussed and the fact that I would be charged $78.41 as well. I went through my email several times looking for this email, and couldn't find it. The bank wouldn't refund it either due to the "contract I had made with the company"(IVORYWHITE). So now, I've had to block my debit card, and have a new 1 sent to me. The bank said it would take about 7-10 days, so I can't even withdraw from my account until the new card comes. By the way, I never got the "FREE WALMART" gift card either. The product seems to work fairly well, though. They would be a lot wiser to be more cooperative with customer service issues, and refunds, though, and tell customers what they are going to be charged from the start, and maybe lower their prices. As it is now, I'll NEVER order this or any product from them again. Not only is it not even close to worth the amount they send you, I don't do business with underhanded, sneaky, dishonest people or companies. In short...SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!
