I hired David Hornbuckler to perform repairs on my stockaid fence. He quoted the job to be "about" 600 dollars. He asked for a retainer so I wrote him a check for 50 dollars. He came back a few weeks later, when the weather warmed up, and wanted another 200 dollars for supplies so I wrote him a check for this amount.

The next day he was at my home making repairs and wanted 150 dollars more for removing plant roots and he said the total remaining amount would be 600 dollars. So, the job went up an extra hundred dollars not including the root removal.

He didn't replace two posts that were part of the quote and he won't return my calls. He said he would drop off the posts but he never did. I even had has drill battery and charger and he sent his wife over for it and I gave it to her in good faith. But now, he plays dead and doesn't answer his phone or return my calls.

I paid this guy without giving him any problems. He cashed all three of my checks at my bank too. He left a pile of old posts and roots behind saying he would pick them up but I am the one who's picking them up. I am also looking for another handyman to finish his job.
