This morning, as usual I pulled quickly on the curb, and dropped off my kid right in front of the school. To my surprise, an East LA Sherriff officer approached my car, and started issuing a ticket.
I asked the officer why he was issuing a ticket, and he responded to me that I was parked in a fire zone. (Citation: 2250031 V.C.)
First of all... I never parked my car, it took less than 5 seconds for my kid to get off the car to go to school.
The school does not have a designation "drop off" zone. So how is a parent supposed to drop off their kids without the fear of being penalized or ticketed by these cops (pigs), that are intentionally standing infront of the school just waiting for the next victim??
I understand that the city is in desperate need of money, but these are really dirty tactics that the city is using to bring in more money.
I've had tickets in the past, but this ticket really made me boil. In a sense, I felt violated.
I never fight any citations, but this one I will. I'm also planning on getting the school's Principal and Administrators involved with this issue.
