On two occasions, years apart, I have tried to use the Jagexstore.com website to purchase runescape merchandise as a birthday present for my son. Sadly, I have never actually been able to purchase anything!! This year I used a VISA card, boy, was that a mistake! I was never able to confirm that I had completed any transaction. The site continually told me I had NO transactions pending nor any completed in the past. Wasn't I surprised to discover that during each of my failed attempts to purchase runescape merchandise, the shop had "reserved" my credit card funds for bogus "pending transactions" and thereby reduced the amount of my available funds on my VISA card! This stunt tied up almost $300 of my VISA funds for over a week. When I attempted (no less than four times) to contact someone via email at both the JagexStore.com customer service and also at Sunrise Identity (that powers Jagex's website), I received NO response--even after one week! After I had put in more than one call to my bank about these several bogus "pending transactions", my bank eventually agreed to void them and restore my credit line. It has been a very sad and disappointing experience for both me and my son, as we have both been long-time fans of Jagex games.
Not a nice way to treat your long-time customers and US fan base?:-(
