2/1/11, I am contacted by James Moore(Hiring Manager) through CareerBuilder in my email that he wants to interview me for a home online Clerical Typist position. The email says if I am interested please contact him through Windows Live Instant Messaging. So I followed through there he states the Better Business Bureau new technology way to interview for employment is online messaging. Okay- So I follow the instructions, we have an interview through instant messaging then I am hired.
Next step, I need to go to Western Union and send $312.99 to Ingrid Allen, MO, Kansas 66604 in minutes to receive my software package for training. I will receive my package in 24hrs. I train with a Supervisor for one week at $20hr, then $25 per hour after training. I am reimbursed my software pkg. $312.99 on my first check in two weeks. The upfront money is to ensure my determination of pursuing this position.
I called Western Union this morning and put a stop to the transaction. I am happy to say I am getting $312.99 back losing the $28.00 fee. I am o.k. with this, however, I do not want anyone else falling for the same scam.
