Job Ad for Personal Assistant

1. A job ad is posted on employment/personal, etc websites for a personal assistant at various cities.

2. Scammer send an email to the job applicant telling them that they are hired. The email contains information about a real company and states he works for this company but he does NOT work for the company.

Below is an example of the email sent by the scammer after someone responds to the job ad. Some people have reported to us that they did not even respond to this ad and that the email was unsolicited.

Detailed Job Description – ACCOUNTANT/ PERSONAL ASSISTANT
I got your resume regards my posting on craigslist, and it has been reviewed, I did appreciate it, So I will give this a GO ! I am happy to inform you that after close consideration with your resume, you have been accepted and given provision appointment. Below are our company details and personal data for you review, please be reminded that you cannot share this information with a third party.

3. Scammer sends the "employee" a phony cashiers check to cash then instructs the employee to keep part for their weekly pay and send the rest of the money via Western Union to another person who is also part of the scam. When the bank verifies the cashiers check is phony then the "employee" is liable for the check amount.
