This is from a JCP department manager, who posted it on another associates facebook account, fully knowing that we have access to his page. I understand that you have the freedom of speech, but associates, especially management ones, should NEVER write something like this in an open forum. Absolutely ridiculous.

my refund

dear sir or madam,

Jc penney had sent me an e-mail to my [email protected] address something re: an e-mail. I then tried to contact this web address i was given and could'nt get there is there a refund or not. i ordered off you people about two months ago for my grand children.

check on this web address i was given jcpenney [email protected] and contact me if this is bogus or not so i can report this to the right person possibly the police.

Scam
My credit card has been charge $9.95 each month since January 2009. The claim is that when I ordered online from JC Penneys that I signed up for this. I did not sign up for this membership! First, the claim is that I took advantage of a $10 discount that entered me into this - no, I paid full price, I can track my order on the JC Penney page. I did not receive $10.00 off. Then, I was told that I received a $10 rebate coupon in the mail. No, I did not. I also told the man when I called that I do not agree to these type of programs, and always say "no thanks". He told me he would refund my 3 months of membership payments and cancel my membership. However, before I hung up the phone, I heard him mutter, "jackass". I doubt he will be following up on his promise. The next step will have to be having the credit card company not pay this fee. Terrible business practices.

ON LINE CREDIT CARD ORDERS
I have purchased quite a few items online at JCPENNEY.com on my JCPENNEY credit card. Even though I return unwanted items immediately, at one time even sending it second day air. It sometimes takes as many as four billing cycles for them to credit your account. How difficult can it be in this day and age to receive an item and issue a credit on a computer? I believe this is a deliberate act in roder to rack of interest money on their credit card. Return go to Reno, Nevada which is less than two hours from my home, yet it takes four billing cycles to credit my account? I return to Macys.com and my return credits are on my cards in no more than two weeks. They are also one of the few online reltailers who does not offer the convenient USPS or UPS returns where you just slap on a label and drop in a bin. You have to insure it and take to P.O. which is a PITA. I'm done with them (once they ever credit my card!!)

Terrible company
I made 3 purchases with JC Penney in the last three months. I spent over $300.00 on pictures of my children and $20.00 in the children's department on clothes. I also reordered more pictures online.

I downloaded my bank statement this afternoon and saw a charge for $9.95 for something called SBS Fun Family Rewards. I googled it and found that this is a program implemented by JC Penney. I have no idea what the program does -- I've received nothing in the mail or email describing it.

No one asked me online or in the store if I wanted to join this program. I never signed anything authorizing any debits from my account. I have contacted the local store and Tom, the Manager, is supposed to call me back tomorrow. No one at the store when I called this evening had heard anything about the program in either the portrait area or the main store.

Watch quit working 7 weeks after purchase - store wouldn't exchange
My husband gave my a Citizen's quartz watch for Christmas. I exchanged it for a different watch 2 days after Christmas. Mid-February the band fell apart (a pin fell out). I was going to have that fixed myself. A week later when I wasn't even wearing the watch, I noticed that it had quit running. I wasn't able to get to the store until today. I was told that they had already exchanged the watch for me once (true - but the other watch was unused and still in the package since I didn't care for the one I received as a gift) and since I hadn't bought the "customer care" plan they couldn't do anything for me. I was really surprised that they didn't stand behind a watch that didn't even last 2 months. Apparently their return policy is 60 days for "fine jewelry" (which is debatable considering the lack of quality of the watch) without the customer care policy. I would have been happy if they would have given me credit to exchange for a different watch. I had already picked out a significantly more expensive watch while I was waiting for the sales staff to figure out what they were going to tell me. But, of course, with the lack of customer service and indifferent attitude of the sales staff, I'll go somewhere else to buy a new watch. And, it's going to be a long, long time before I shop at JC Penney again.

Fun Family Rewards
I made a purchase on JC Penney web site 12-18-07 for some clothing. At check-out they presented a $10 rebate and asked me to confirm my Email address, which I did. A year later I'm looking through me bank statements for medical deductions for income taxes and I find "Fun Family Rewards" at $9.95 taken from my debit account for 14 months. I called the company "stonebridge benefit services. They said they would "cancel me from the program" and refund one month. Big Deal!
I believe the public should know that JC Penney is running a scam. Don't buy on line from JC Penney, or you will live to regret it. I've been a customer since the 1940's. No more. Myron Ullman, is this the best you can do? I guess you'll be in line behind AIG for bailout money.

Optical Department Service
I had to wait in-person 45min just to be told my glasses were not in yet. I went in to see if my glasses were ready for pick up, and the clerk said for me to sign in, which I did. I told her, "I just want to know if the glasses are here yet." And she said 'That is what everyone is here for." As I sat and waited, I noticed that other people were ordering glasses, not just picking up glasses.

after 30min I asked again, and she said I had to keep waiting. After 45min she called my name, checked and told me they were not in yet. I was not happy, and I said, "that is a heck of a way to run a business." She responded with "even children have to wait in line."

she could have just checked quickly to see if my glasses were ready, and if they were I could have waited, if not, I could just have left happily. Or, if they dont want to stop what they are doing to check to see if a customer's glasses are ready, they could have a list of names indicating that the glasses were ready, that is updated each days delivery, and scratch the name off when the glasses are picked up...

What a waste of good will; they did most everything correctly, and the one clerk dropped the ball...

Changing Due Dates
Citibank which administers the JC PENNEY Credit account has changed the due dates on December Billing cycles to a 23 day cycle from a normal 28 to thirty day cycle. I called the customer service to complain and talked with a man to could not speak English and who also was very rude. I was told that i was not the only customer that had their date changed and this was nation wide. I cancelled my card. I have maintained this account for many years and have no reason to do any further business with them.
