Never again
In January I purchased a dish set and comforter set from jc penny with in a month it started to fall apart. The dishes have cracks all over as if I had them for years and the comforter has been repaired 3 times. Customer service told me that if it had been over 90 days that’s all they guarantee. Who know that 200dollar comforters were only going to be good for 3 months? Never shopping that brand nor that store again. I thought that chriss madden was a nice brand boy was I sadly mistaken. And as of today still no resolution.

Terrible service
I bought the sofa on 2/23/08, the company told that I would receive the item in 8-10 weeks. Now is 4 months pass and I still not receiving it. Every time I call the department and they give me another date of delivering but never true. They shouldn't promise the customers if they don't have the item in stock. This company is totally a liar, I'll never buy furnitures in this JCpenny again. I rather spend more money to buy elsewhere.

Fun family reward program
I was told when I ordered a blanket inline in January that I would receive a $20 rebate check (which I never got because they supposedly sent it to my email). Since February they have been charging me $9.95 /month for 4 months now. I called them & said I never received my rebate & I refuse to pay the monthly charges. I also said I called several times to cancel & was still being billed. I said the whole thing was a scam...I looked it up on complaint boards & want a supervisor now. Well, this nice guy named Hassen said there was no need & he would credit my acct. for all 4 months in 3-5 days, hopefully they will
Make sure to call and complain... they WILL take it off, but only if you don't stand for it! This board made me realize I wasn't the only one being scammed!

Rip off
I bought several pieces of gold jewellery, online, via J.C. Penney. They sent me a receipt stating the s&h would be $22.93. I waited for weeks for the order, and finally checked the tracking page where I discovered that Penney's allowed each of the different distributors to tack on additional s&h fees to my order, which was being shipped in five separate packages, for an additional $81.63!!! That was in addition to the $22.93, Penney's said they were charging! I complained, and complained, returned the junky jewellery which cost $400.00, plus more than $100.00 to ship that trash! They only reimbursed me $41.00!!! I am so angry. Nowhere did the receipt, or order page on the Penney catalogue site say that there may be additional shipping and handling charges!! Do not buy from Penney's online, especially jewelry. They are such a rip off!!! I am turning them into the Attorney General for my state to follow up on this rip off.

Totally frustrated- paid $1799.64 for couch with missing (damaged) legs
Couches delivered by jcpenney had two legs damaged upon delivered. Driver convinced us that since only the legs got damaged that they would immediately send out replacements if we would keep the furniture. I have called furniture cust svc 12/10, 12/26, 1/2, 1/11, 1/14, 1/15, 1/25, 2/4 and emailed twice with no satisfaction. I am told someone will get back to me & no one calls back. I have asked for a supervisor and am never allowed to talk to one. Still no legs, Skirt of couch is getting ruined from lying on floor. Totally frustrated- paid $1799.64 for couch with missing (damaged) legs and it is now March.

Money sent by the mistake!
In June of 04, I click on JCPenney and sent them $50.00 through my online banking. I didn't owe them anything I just sent them money by mistake. I called them and told them what I had done and they issued me a check for the amount.
In May of 05 I began receiving a bill from a collection agency, I called and they were to investigate it, but never heard anything else from them. A month or 2 later another was sending me a bill. I called and had a shouting match with the collection agency Nationwide representative. I called JCPenney again.
They told me that I owed them $50.00 and the rest was late fee's and finance charges. I explained what I had done in 05 and did get a refund check, the rep told me they were not suppose to send a check to me. Well is that my fault?
They removed the fees and charges, and begin billing me again. I called and spoke to one of the supervisors, she told me that they never received the check and that my bank probably canceled it since I didn't owe. I contacted the bank and got the statement showing where indeed I did send it and NO they would not cancel an electronic payment. This was an online conversation and I sent that and the statement to them. They sent me bills with new finance charges and late fees.
I called again and this time they told me that they issued me 2 checks for that refund. After becoming irate with them I asked for an investigation and to send me the copies of the checks showing my signature on them. I received a copy of one check. I called back, the supervisor this time told me that they sent 2 check copies and didn't I get the 2nd one. I told her no, sure didn't, got 1.
Again I told her to send me proof, copies of the 2 checks. I got the same copy of one check and still getting charged late fees and finance charges. I've sent my 2nd letter to them and have called this company 7 times.
They are calling my house and just sent me a brand new credit card. lol
They say I signed up with their master card and they sent me the 2nd check.
This is the most ridiculous company and the supervisors, representatives are about as dense as a bird. I am fed up with this.
They have no right to put a charge on my card when in the first place it wasn't a purchase, it was a mistake and if they sent me 2 checks it's their mistake. I told them when they prove that I received 2 checks I will gladly pay them the $50.00. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and whoever else I can complain about these thieves to.
It's mind boggling how corporations think they can just rip you off like this.
