I'm Kristine Moe, handling the estate of my fiancee, Billy E. Shelton.
He had a credit card with First North American National Bank, now called Emerge.
Had been paying for their Total Protection Plan, which was to pay the balance of the account when he died.
Called Emerge they gave me instructions on what to do.
Submitted claim with death certificate to address they gave me on the phone on 9/13/05, got another phone call from them wanting me to send a second death certificate to another address, mailed it on 9/20/05 which was returned to sender on 10/6/05.
Get a California Probate Court notice saying that Jefferson Capitol submitted a claim for $4, 571.86 on Oct 2, 2005.
Contacted Emerge by letter dated 7/14/07 wanting to know what happened to the insurance claim I filed, never got an answer back. Cannot afford to go to a lawyer. Figured there was nothing I could do till I found your site on the internet.
My mother passed away in California, according to her lawyer if the estate is $100, 000 or less there is no need to go thru probate, that is why I never put Bill Sheltons estate into probate.
Don't know how Jefferson Capitol enters into this issue, did not get any correspondance from them.
As I got fustrated by the runaround, did not try to call Emerge or send them another letter so just let the matter slide.
