Faulty instalation
We purchased a GE microwave from Jessup's in January. We paid their installers $85 to install it in the space above the stove where the previous microwave had been. Approximately 3 weeks later, while we were away, the microwave fell from its mounting, landing face down on the stove top. When we telephoned the store to see about a replacement, we were told that neither they nor their authorized installers were responsible for replacing the microwave. They offered to sell us a new one at full price. Tom Jessup, the owner, went on a rant accusing us of trying to get something for nothing, blaming our cabinets as faulty, and shouting about people taking responsibility for their own actions --- which was particularly ironic as they refuse to take responsibility for the improper installation! Further, to this, GE Consumer Service was absolutely no help.
