Coming in for a landing at JFK on Delta flight 81 from Amsterdam, we were coming in for landing and just before we hit the runway, the pilot pulls the plane back up along with the landing gear. He comes on the speakers and says "Sorry about missing the runway, there was a plane in the way." What? A plane in the way?
Then after he got back in the sky and turned around we came in for another try and went too far and dropped on the runway. Baggage compartments opened up and the landing was very hard. The plane shifted right and left and finally the plane stopped right before the end of the runway.
Who's fault was this? JFK? Delta? Both? I think it was an inexperienced pilot. However, if there was a plane in the way of landing, then some air traffic controllers need to be FIRED!
