I moved from Gauteng to the Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth. I did not have the opportunity to view a premises for rent, I did ask an in-law to view the premises. She did and to her it seemed in order. On my arrival from Gaunteng to take possession of the the premises, I
met with the rental agent van As, I pointed out the faults I had observed in the first 10-15 minutes of my arrival. He stated I should draw up a list of the faults, to which I did, and as the rental agent van As read the list and signed it acknowledging the faults. Further after our meeting, I noticed the pool vacuum was not working correctly, wich I reported to van As, he did not tend to the complaint even after confronting him and him stating he would send the pool technician to look at it. the pool turned green and unusable. 3 months later he comes to the premises inspects the pool and says he will get the technician out the following day. The following day the technician did arrive, did his fault testing, and submitted a report to van As, this was a month ago. van As alledgely telephoned the pool centre and told them I had put "a whole lot of stuff in the pool" that is why it was green. I am paying full rental for a place where I cannot make use of what could be a beautiful pool!!!
