I received a call from a guy named John Miller (So he says). This guy knew my name & had called my cell phone (That's a RED FLAG). He told me that he's from Global International Sweepstakes and I just won $550, 000. "Are you excited?" I said; "Only if it's true." "Well, (John says) it is true and all you have to do is send $450.00 through Western Union right now to our banker Rayon McAdam in Manchester, Jamaica W.I and the money will be in your account by 4:30pm today.
I drilled John with questions:
How did you get my #? Your name was pulled as a 2nd place sweepstake winner.
Who are you affiliated with? Readers Digest
How can I prove that you are legit? We are legit, we are registered with the Better Business Bureau.
What is your phone # and where are you located? 1-876-504-4949 I'm in Maryland.
Can I get my $450.00 back if I don't get my $550, 000.00? Yes, if your money does not arrive, you can cancel with Western Union and get all of your monies within a 24 hour period. (I checked with Western Union, this statement is NOT true. Once you send money and the transfer is complete, your money is GONE! Per Western Union)
Throughout the questioning period John kept saying will you hold for a moment? Then he would come back with an answer and spoke with a sort of Arabian/Amanian/Peru accent.
John said to send the money to Rayon McAdam their Banker in Manchester, Jamaica W.I.
