"John Scott Chambers" contacted me from [email protected]
I am a small business that makes custom designed bridal jewelry. He ordered custom designed pieces for his "fiance" and "maid of honor". I asked for a deposit and he said that he would rather pay for it all upfront. Unfortunately I did complete the order before I realized it was a scam (but didn't send it of course)
I received the below email and responded that I knew it was a scam, but wanted to warn others if possible.
He called me from this phone: 607-846-7210
Not sure if his name is REUBEN JOSEPH but I found a compliant on this site where he uses similar tactics.
Hi,
It is my pleasure to inform you that when I contacted my company they told me the package would deliver to you today.
But there's a little mix-up about the payment, when I requested for the tracking number of the payment meant to be sent to the Bridal Shop where we want to get the wedding gown and suit, it was at that point I was told it had been added to the payment that was sent to you which the amount on it is $2, 960. Here is the FEDEX tracking number for it (873794434672). Please as soon as you get the payment take it to your bank and get it cashed.
When you get the cash, deduct the retainer fee of $1, 078 and send the remaining balance to Reuben, the Bridal shop's manager so he could arrange for the shipment of our wedding attires. Please, take care of this for me so he could ship them to us as soon as possible. And don't forget to deduct the sending fee from the balance you are sending to the bridal's shop manager.
To check the progress of the payment being sent to you, please log on to www.fedex.com using the tracking number above. You have to ship the items to Reuben so he could cargo all together with our wedding dresses.
Below is the information of the Bridal shop manager that you will send it to via Western Union Money Transfer to enable him pick the money on time:
Receiver's Name...REUBEN JOSEPH
ADDRESS...36 ALIZE DRIVE
CITY... KINNELON, NJ 07405
I will be returning back to the States with my wife to be either tomorrow or Thursday but please, do me the favor of sending the balance to the bridal's shop manager because the first question my fiance asked me was about her wedding gown which I told her will be shipped to me this weekend and besides, someone else is about buying the particular gown my fiance picked and if this is picked up by someone else, she will not like it at all. Am counting on you to take care of this for me before it's too late.
She extends her warm greetings to you.
Get back to me with the MTCN NUMBER, AMOUNT SENT, SENDER'S NAME.
Hope to hear from you soon.
John.
