customer service
Saturday, January 15th I attended a comedy show with some friends and stayed for drinks after at Jokers Casino and Comedy Club in Richland WA. This bar is attached to the side of a bowling alley. My problem started like this: I went up to the bar to get a pitcher. I handed the bartender my card. She handed it back and explained that they keep the tab open and close it at the end of the night, so that the customer doesn't end up leaving their card behind. Great idea...so i thought. Turns out that if you don't sign your receipt at the end of the night, they charge you a 15% service fee for the bartender. I was never informed of this, yet they claim that it was posted on the walls. I wish I could have been informed of this in a better way. After leaving the bar i called to see what my bill was, they told me that my bill total was $82.00, and i gave a tip on top of that. At this time, it would have been perfect for him to inform me of the no-signing fee, but he didn't. I checked my account the next day and i had three separate charges that only one of were mine. I called the bar to discuss the issue at hand. The bartender had no clue how to handle the situation and said someone would call back. I called back to speak with a manager. The manager says he will figure out what happened and give me a call back. He called back very promptly, which i liked. When i told him i was unaware of the 15% fee, no one had told me about it, he laughed and said "oh, you are going to try and argue this with me now", he went on to say "look BUDDY, the information is posted all over the building and you should have seen it". Immediately i got very frustrated with his sarcastic slander and laughter, he then hung up on me. I call back and he asked if im ready to talk to him respectfully, after he just laughed in my face and hung up on me. I know that nothing will probably be done with this complaint, but i had to let people know. Management and customer service should be handled a million times better than this. The reason Jokers gives your card back, is in hopes that you will just take off without signing your receipt so that they can charge that 15% fee. My biggest problem is the manager and how he handles situations. something should be done.
