Our company has been purchasing products from the Atlanta store since 2003. It was not until 2007 that we had ever received discourteous or unprofessional treatment from anyone in the Jon Don organization.
I spoke to someone in the corporate office about the matter where I received an apology and was told this would never happen again. But it did. I will explain.
On September 21, 2009 about 10AM I contacted your Atlanta store and spoke with Andy regarding the purchase of two products; a low pressure sensor switch and a small size “Clean Green” by ProChem. He said they did not carry this item as a stock item any longer but could order it for me and would call back with a delivery schedule.
I had not received a call back the previous day so the following morning I called the store to speak with Andy and was told by Rita he was with a customer.
I asked her could she let him know I called. She said she could not take a message but would put me through to his voice mail. I left a message on Andy’s voice mail.
Since we were going to pick up products that morning anyway I assumed that Andy was very busy or something the reason I had not received a call back from him but would have an answer on the product in question. We arrived about noon. There was a lot of movement and everyone appeared working. I was aware the staff saw us as we entered the store but the only person to speak to us was Chris and David. I asked Rita about Andy since I noticed him briefly when we walked in. Again she stated he was busy. This time her response had a different tone, like I was annoying her or something like that.
My associate and I begin to browse. We asked David if he could show us an air mover, which he did and once we had decided to buy it he walked it directly to the counter. There were still the two items left to purchase and we still were waiting to see what Andy had to tell us about the order. Just soon as David has sat the machine down Rita walks up to the counter and snaps “I‘ll be waiting on you today!” Before I could complete my response to Rita the manager “Cara” stepped in and launched an outright verbal assault. My response to her employee was intended to amuse instead it was maligned and used to launch an inimical tirade on my character and reputation. The statements that were made were condescending, belittling as if I were an employee or a child. Making statements like “I did not have a right to choose who waited on me” and further stated that Chris who usually waits on me was done only as a courtesy.
She went on saying that I had been rude to her staff on numerous occasions and that she was overprotective of her staff. Dazed and surprised at her allegations Chris walks up and rings us up the air mover. We still did not get the critical part that we came for. So we both walked to the service side to speak with Eric about the sensor.
We came into contact with Cara once again who appeared very agitated. This time I was told that my business was not welcome there and that I would be getting a call from someone without specifying who this someone is. We left the store at that point.
Before this day there has never been any mention to me of having any conflict with anyone. The only person that I have ever had any problems with is the manager, Cara. I believe this to be a retaliatory act. I consider this a hostile and discriminatory act.
We use Jon Don as our primary source of service and supplies. We own and use ProChem equipment and chemicals. We have not considered using any other company to service our equipment since Jon Don was referred by the manufacturer. What is unusual is having supplier that you have been depending on goods and services from over five years and being told your business is no longer wanted here.
I have written their corporate office about this matter and have not received any response.
