JUNK CARS
I purchased a 2002 Volkwagon Passat from this car lot and thought I had found a really good deal. The salespeople were really courteous and although I was leary about purchasing a used car without a warranty they assured me that anything major with the engine or transmission to be faulty in the first 30 days they would take care of. I should have known something was shady when a few days after my purchase a finance company called and said they bought my contract and that I was to make all my payments to them. I first had to have them fix the heat in the car. Then the engine started squealing about a week later and after several phone calls they told me to bring it in. a quick fix, ten minutes later I was riding as something just needed tightening. a few days later, I was on my way to work and the engine started smoking. I was stranded on the side of the road and I had to pay to have the car towed back to the lot. Several days later they finally gave me the car back and said a radiator hose had to be replaced. The owner then had the nerve to ask me to pay for it. So I took the car to an auto mechanic who low and behold told me the car had been in a major front end collision. It would need thousands of dollars in repairs including, leaking brakes, leaking engine etc and there was actually duct tape holding one of the front headlights in place. The car had had a fresh new paint job bumper to bumper. Long story short I confronted them with this information and was given the run around by them and the finaance company basically said too bad too sad its on me not the carlot. Even though I specifically asked if the car had been in a wreck. So I am out $2000 and have a repo on my credit for a car I had less than a month there was no way I was gonna pay on a car that was dangerous to drive and costs more to fix than what it was worth and Georgia laws have no protection for the consumer when it comes to purchasing used cars. Their laws are to protect the car lots. So either buy new or get a warranty at all costs
