Discimination
I have been unemployed for two years. I began to receive unemployment benefits from the State of Arizona in June 2009. These benefits, which were well deserved after 10 years of continuous employment with a major insurance carrier, are distributed by means of a JP Morgan Chase debit card. Today, I found that they will now charge a 25 cent fee each time I call the Customer Service number on the back of my card to check my balance. Furthermore, I am locked out of the www.myaccount.chase.com website.
I have tried multiple means to contact someone at Chase to unlock my web access. Every representative I've spoken with had started the call professionally, but became uncaring and in my opinion, discriminatory once they found that I am receiving unemployment benefits. According to an unnamed Supervisor at Personal Accounts Customer Service; 1-800-935-9935, Chase does not service Debit Cards distributed by third parties. I then Called the Online Banking number also listed on Chase's website; 1-877-242-7372, then explained my situation. Debra, a Technical Advisor told me that the "normal" Chase representatives cannot help those with debit cards provided by third parties (even though these are Chase issued cards accepted at their ATM's and recognized as Chase Visa cards for purchases). So Debra, whose demeanor was such that I was irritating her, provided another number for technical assistance for Chase.com domain internet related problems: 866-545-6505. I hung up and followed Debra's advice and called the number, entered my card number and was immediately charged 25 cents which I was trying to avoid in the first place.
This number is simply a re-direct to the number on the back of my card that offers no technical assistance and now charges 25 cents for each inquiry into my account. Now I am 3 cents overdraft due to Chase’s negligence and I cannot check my balance without driving to an ATM.
Dear reader of this complaint. You are probably balking at my issues over the small amount of money involved, the disrespect towards me by Chase employees simply because I am unemployed and this newly created fee. But I've been out of work for a long time after having a 60k income for a decade. I get food and clothing for my children and myself from shelters. My Unemployment benefits do not even cover my bills. So, with this said. I count each and every penny very carefully. How can this supposedly responsible financial institution treat common people so unjustly; more discriminatory than race, which is a violation of state and federal law.
You would think they would support those who have fallen into bad times to help them climb back into normality and to be active consumers; not to mention providing members of the community. I've tried to be nice in this note, but in a few words that will not be the case: The institution of JP Morgan Chase is made up of discriminating Crooks, Thieves and Liars with their only interest being that benefitting themselves at the cost and hardship of the communities for which they falsely promote honestly and the American way.
I don't know if this letter will help me or other for whom Chase has taken advantage of, but at least I tried.
Sincerely,
Todd R. Stahl

cancelation of debit card
I read in the Newspaper that ALDI Grocery Store had a computer breach, where Debit Cards were affected, and I called the Chase Operations number 800-935-9935 only to be connected to the Fraud Division. I then contacted its Executive Office at 800-242-7399 over the weekend, was told by RC that they would send us a replacement card with RUSH. Called again on Monday AM, talked to EW, who informed me that the card would be received this day, and when I asked for a tracking number, this was not available. I was told to call back in the afternoon or evening - still not a tracking number. I contacted them again on Tuesday, 9/28/10, still no tracking number. Customer Service then informed me that a replacement card was mailed out on 9.25.10 by snail mail, which can take seven (7) days. I was also informed that the replacement card was sent out today - but w/o any tracking number??? I also asked, what kind of service - UPS are they sending they the card? The rep. at the4 Executive Office didn't know - was told UPS. Obviously SHE didn't know, that UPS has several delivery services available. Again, Chase doesn't care about its valued customers or they could have notified them in advance that Debit Cards are being closed. This Bank has caused us a lot of inconvience and embarrassments.

I guess its time to revisit my bank and switch to a customer friendly bank
I have been a loyal chase client for over 10 years. I've had a chase credit card for 20 years. I missed 1 credit card paymnet = when i was out of work, I just received a letter threatning legal action.

I have my banking, IRA and mortgage (no delinquent payments) with chase. I guess its time to revisit my bank and switch to a customer friendly bank.

I have been waiting 5 months to talk with someone who could properly ‘negotiate’ a settlement
I have been working with Chase on a short sale for 5 months now. I call each day for an update and am repeatedly assured that someone will get back to me in 48 hours, or 7-10 days, or 3-5 business days. I can call 4 times in one day and get 4 different answers. I have even been told the file was in a status that is not allowed for the type of loan that we are working with.

Yesterday I called and was advised the file was ‘closed’. The reason was because the buyer had backed out of the transaction. This is totally FALSE, the buyer is still waiting for a short sale approval. I called again to inquire and was told an email was sent to the negotiator and manager.

The negotiator called me in the afternoon and was very rude, verbally abusive and threatening. He demanded to know details of why the 1st lender hadn’t allowed more money to Chase (2nd lender), but when I tried to explain, he cut me off and wouldn’t let me answer. He demanded that either the seller or buyer come up with the extra funds to pay off Chase or the file would be closed and demanded an answer in 24 hours. He also made inappropriate references to my clients’ financial state – which frankly is none of his business.

It is interesting that I have been waiting 5 months to talk with someone who could properly ‘negotiate’ a settlement, and Mr. Dictator calls me and demands an answer in 24 hours. This man is simply a BULLY and paid by Chase to intimidate people. I wonder if Chase is aware of how this man is representing their interests. Because of this one transaction, I do not recommend Chase to anyone – for banking or lending.

fraud
I had a credit card with Washington Mutual, JP Morgan Chase bought them out and never contacted me to let me know. I never got any bills from them. I made a payment to WaMu in may 08 and paid my payment. I never got another bill and wasnt aware of Chase taking over that company. a year and ahalf later I get calls from Scott & Brock, lawyers for Chase, telling me I owned them over 5000.00 in debt. When I made my last payment to WaMu I owed them only 1500.00. The lawyers Brock & Scott never would tell me who bought out WaMU and have charged me thousand upon thousands of dollars in fees due to their neglect of sending me a bill or any correspondence. They have garnished my wages and expect me to pay for their mistake of getting lost in their system.

Jobs to other countries
JP Morgan Chase is sending jobs overseas. The financial system in this country has been bailed out by the Fed, the US government and ultimately by the American Taxpayer. And to show it's appreciation, JP Morgan is shipping countless jobs overseas to India at a time when the US unemployment rate is 10% and the real unemployment rate is close to 18%.

Shame on these greedy bastards. Pedatory lending to put loans on the books and then minimal willingness to work out details. Principle write-downs and lower interest rates to mortgage customers they should have never given a loan to but no compassion for the middle class home owner who lost his job because of the financial crisis and then ultimately lost their home.

Modifications are only in the best interest of the banks. If there is equity they foreclose. If no equity, then they let it modify because they are going to lose that money in a modification anyway. It is all about the banks and the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve is a For-Profit oganization and we let them run our financial system with no audits, no checks and balances and no idea how they have the capacity to continue to loan America money it does not have.

America is being sold out and the world powers are manipulating our corrupt politicians to get ultimate power and control over all that exists in the world. The time will come that a stand needs to be taken. Who will be ready and will it be too late. Corrupt politicians should be deported. Lock the borders. Stop the political malfeasance and the corporate thieves from ruining the country and the future.
