Raising fees despite accepting a payment from a debt relief company
My husband has a credit card with Jupiter Bank $1000 limit. He became disabled and is working with a debt relief company to pay off his debt. Jupiter first stated they refused the offer sent to them. Another representative stated they never got the offer and it keeps going round and round. They call just about every day starting 8:30 Am on a Sunday and they will not listen to anything said. While one customer representative said they did not accept the offer, the however did accept the payment send to them by the debt relief company. In the meantime, they keep raising the penalty for being late and over the limit 29.95 %.

They Screwed me out of all my reward points
I have had a Juniper bank ( part of Barclays Bank) credit card that was due to expire in 2012. They just canceled my card for lack of use, without warning and now won't let me use any of my Earned Rewards points. I stopped using the card when it took them considerably longer to post payments, and I was getting late notices. Every other bank and person I paid (on line) credited my payment in days, Juniper took over a week. I have tired to deal with them in writing (ignored) email (told to write them) and by phone (many phone calls.
Do not use this bank! If you have one of their cards, CANCEL it NOW!

Illegal practices
My wife and I had 9.99% interest rates on our cards (separate accounts) last fall and received a letter in November that my interest rate was jumping to 27.45% because my payment was late. I checked and payments on both accounts were on time. I contacted Juniper at the time and they said it was a system error. They corrected the rate, refunded the interest, and reduced the minimum payment back down to where it was supposed to be.
In early January, I looked at our accounts online and realized the rates were back up to 27.45%. When I called customer service, I was told our payments were late and our interest rates were being raised because of it. I told them to check the payment dates, because the payments cleared our checking account 4 days ahead of the due date. When they looked they realized the payments were not late and they said they would correct the problem, but I would have to still make the doubled minimum payment because the system had it that way. The problem was supposed to be corrected when my account recycled in February.
When I received February's bill the rate was still 27.45%, higher interest had been charged, and the payments were still doubled. I have called several times since then and was told it was their system error and it would be corrected. Interest was refunded on both accounts for January, but only for my wife's account in February.
I have had to call repeatedly because their time for correcting the problem had passed. They have continued to tell me they have submitted a case for each account. After several times I was told these were expedited, but they were not solved, let alone any faster. When I asked what expedited meant, neither the operator nor the supervisor could tell me what that meant except that they submitted a case to a "special" group.
The last case was supposed to be corrected last Saturday. I was told to call back if it wasn't and a supervisor would "raise" this to his manager to get it solved. Yesterday, it had not been solved, so I called back and was told they were still working on it and they could submit another case, but it would start all over again. I asked to be forwarded to a supervisor and was told I had already talked to a supervisor before and they weren't going to talk to me. After explaining that I was supposed to talk to a supervisor if the problem hadn't been solved, they finally placed me with a supervisor. The supervisor looked at the history on theaccounts and forwarded both to his manager, who was supposed to give me a call back that day.
I received for my wife's account a voice mail message from someone who at best spoke broken english. The message said they could not change the rate in the system because the new federal law did not allow them to. When I called in again, I was told that the federal law kept them from raising rates. When I said the rate was being lowered and not raised, and was their bank error, I was told there were several rates in the system that were lower (i.e., introductory 0.0%, balance transfer 1.9%, credit check 2.9%, other special rate 8.9%) and these would be raised if they changed my rate back to 9.9%, so it was illegal to raise my rates.
I reminded them this account was closed at my request when they wanted to raise my rate last summer to 27.45% and I closed the account and continued to pay on it. Those "special" rates were never going to be applied to my account. All it takes is for someone to go in enter a data change in a single database field. I was told this couldn't be done and I needed to send a letter to their "Executive Offices". Once again they were not correcting their problem, but instead were delaying correcting the issue and putting the inconvenience back on me to have itcorrected . They would not give me any phone number to their "Executive Office" and would not allow me to talk to anyone else. The supervisor also kept cutting me off when I would try to talk until I had to tell him to stop interrupting me when I tried to talk.
What Juniper has done has been illegal and they refuse to correct their problem. I am the one who suffers because I have to continually contact them to try to get the problemcorrected (with no success even though they admit it is their problem), we have increased interest compounding on our accounts, and our minimum payments are doubled.

Rip Off on interest rates
I have been with Juniper Bank Credit Card for over 4 years. It was great! I always paid on time, never missed a payment, always payed more than the minimum, I did a balance transfer from another bank to Juniper, and was over the limit by $.07. that is Seven Cents!! they increased my interest from 17% to 29%. HOLY S@#T. I couldn't believe it. I call and they said that THAT WAW THAT, AND SORRY BUT THAT IS WAT IT IS. I'm closing the account, this is bank rip-off. Beware of the new banking rules.

Scam , do not use
I opted out from my Juniper card over the phone. Unfortunately, they think that I needed to also send a letter. I now have a closed account and they want me to pay a 29.99% interest rate when I followed all their instructions. I have never made a late payment and I now have a jacked up interest rate from 12.24% to 29.99%. Do not use Juniper if this is how they treat a "valued" customer. I now have to fax a letter to the company and possibly contact an attorney over something that a company should be doing in the hopes of being reputable.

Worse customer service company i have ever dealt
Juniper credit card company is one of the largest and most inefficient companies you will ever deal with, stay clear of them. They continue to bill you for after paying off card and in fact there online service is the reason for them being able to collect service fees, they continue to not update it with current balances.
They are the worse customer service company i have ever dealt with and refuse to do anything to accomodate their customer, do not deal with them.
They will never give out any more phone numbers and will not assist you in anyway beyond the person u get on the phone, period.

Overcharged
I have a Juniper/Barclays credit card and I have a balance on mine. I never missed a payment or paid late or purchased over my limit. I miscalculate the interest accrual and went over my limit by not even $10.00. They increased my rate to a ridiculous 24.24%.
I contacted them in July 2009 due to this issue.
They credited my account for the increase in the APR for the month and told me they put my interest rate back to my original 8.99%. I thought it was finished until I got my online statement for August 2009 showing again the ridiculous 24.24%.
When I contacted them they stated that they would not change my interest rate and that it did not show in their system, but when I showed them the credits from July and information provided to me in July the Barclays customer service told me they would not do anything and I was stuck with the ridiculous APR.
I am paying off the card and passing on to everyone to BOYCOTT the Juniper/Barclays Bank of Delaware Company due to Lies, Unreasonable, and Terrible Customer Relations.

late fees/int rates
I was issued a credit card from juniper bank with a 500.00 dollar credit limit. The intrest was 3%. I always paid more than what they requested for the month. But i received a bill about 1 month ago that had late fees attached. so I called to investigate and was told my payment was 1 day late. I spoke to customer service and was told they would remove the fee. They did not remove the late fee and they raised my interest rate over 20%. My balance started out @ 480.00 and i have never missed a payment and I send more money than requested. My balance is now all most 600.00 and i havent used the card 5 months.
