Leaving your tires and rims with Kal Tire may seem like a good deal. Hey, they store them for free and for a very reasonable price change them for you in spring and fall. No muss no fuss.
Well... that is until they loose them. Then try to tell you even though you've been coming to them for years, the computer has no record of you.
So. If you leave your tires with Kal Tire (or ANY COMPANY) make sure that you have some kind of proof on hand. Keep your receipts or get a signature from the manager that they have taken possession of your tires for storage. Think about it. What real proof do you have that property you own is sitting there?
And in telling people my story, I have found that this is not an isolated incident. Most people have told me they themselves or people they know have run into the same problem with Kal Tire and other companies.
Kal Tire is "working to resolve my problem". So hopefully they will come through. However, a year later I'm still out a pricey set of aluminum rims and summer tires that were in good condition.
So just beware and protect yourself.
