Very disappointing service and follow-up
After ordering AND paying on 12 April 2010 I am STILL awaiting delivering on my GIFT purchase. I received a SMS saying that my order has been despateched and that delivery will be within 24 hours on 21 April. By 23 April I queried why it has not been delivered yet. On 30 April [Hidden Web Address] phoned me to say that they cannot get feedback from FedEx and will get back to me on Monday 3 May. This was also stated in writing on an e-mail. On Thursday 6 May I queried again since I did not receive my parcel OR any further follow-up feedback. It is now 11 May, still no reply from Kalahari's support centre or any of the two gifts that are now LONG past the birthdays. VERY DISSAPOINTING SERVICE!!!

Think twice before buying online gift vouchers
I have a number of gift vouchers at Kalahari that were awarded to me as a sales incentive. They are all valid until 2011. I have been using these vouchers over time to buy gifts etc. About a month ago I went on to use them and one showed as expired on 13th March so I queried it. Next thing ALL of them showed as expired. I have been trying since 14th March to get my queries resolved and get my vouchers reinstated so I can use them. I have not been able to send ANY of the gifts I was planning because they did not reinstate my vouchers even though I have sent numerous emails to customer care. I have received emails in reply to my request stating it would be fixed and every time I checked nothing had changed. Eventually today I got someone to help me and he confirmed it would be done and that it would all show as one voucher and that the expiry date would be 14 July 2011. I went on at 16h30 today and the voucher is now valid but only until 14 July 2010!! I phoned them AGAIN and they have told me that it can only be resolved on Monday when the Marketing Mgr is in. This type of service is UNACCEPTABLE and I am shocked that a customer can be treated with such disregard.

Ignoring emails about returning goods
I bought on line DVD's for a Gift which were delivered on the 4th March 2010. Unfortunately one of the DVD's were brought in from the USA not the UK as I originally thought, therefore the DVD does not work. After endless perusing on the website about their returning goods policy (of which I could find nothing)I emailed 4 times to which as yet I have had no reply, and as I work nights I cannot phone the Customer Care line. I have been a Customer with Kalahari for about 2 years and in the past have had no problems whatsover so now I'm a little disappointed!

Empty CD case, no refund
I bought a CD some time back of a classic movie but didn't open it. When I opened it some months later, I found it EMPTY!!! A double disk movie with no movie at all. When I contacted Kalahari they told me that because the case was opened and it was more than 14 days since the purchase, they could do nothing.
Where I come from, one looks to see what kind of history the customer has had and then takes appropriate action. They can easily see that I've spent several thousand rands with them each year for years and they could have made a plan of some sort. If not an offer to replace the CD, then at least a discount on buying another one.
This is the 3rd time I've had bad service. Faulty DVDs go missing when returned and are never refunded or replaced... One DVD arrived in pieces and they said it wasn't their problem.
I've ordered books from US suppliers and they've replaced them just because they never arrived, no questions asked. Even Loot replaced a dictionary because it arrived damaged - something that was caused by the post and not by Loot themselves.
So Kalahari, you've l lost me. And I'll tell all my friends to go elsewhere too cause I sent them to you!

The only thing they manage to get is customer's money
I have been waiting for this company to deliver just 1 local book for over two months now. Everytime i call [they never call me for feedback] they lay all the blame on Heinemann publishing. I have no contract with heinemann and i expect these guys to keep me updated and get me my book as promised and paid for. They should not be acting as a go between, if the only thing they manage to get is customer's money. I'm actually very dissapointed in them.

Out of all the useless companies I ever dealt with Kalahari is by far the worst
Out of all the useless companies I ever dealt with Kalahari is by far the worst!!! They take forever to deliver and when you inquire about your order different people say different things!! Consumers, take my advice... STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! FNB, why on earth would you link your ebucks to an incompetent company like this???

This is really disappointing and I do not intent to continue doing business with them
I consider myself as a good repeat customer (many thousands spend with them). I have recently ordered two gifts on 05 Sep 2009 for two items to the value of R1000. The one was available immediatley and had to wait for second one in order to dispatch. Both were dispatched according to web page and related links, but only one delivered on the 14th. At delivery it was indicated that the other package will be delivered 'later' and we are still waiting. I have send two emails to their help line and did not receive any feedback or update. Unfortunatly I am currently abroad and find it difficult to place phone call due to time zone differences. This is really disappointing and I do not intent to continue doing business with them.

Money paid, but product not received
According to kalahari.net if you order a book it will take up to 10 days before you will receive the item. I have purchased a book on the 4th of September and today is the 16th of September. Why is this taking so long? When I try to contact the call centre they said that they will only contact me in 2 days!

Doesn't inform about correct delivery date
I really don't like complaining about Kalahari.net because I've never really had a problem before. My order was dispatched on 03092009 and an email plus sms was sent saying my order would be delivered the next working day which would have been Friday. As it is door to door only for this type of product I made arrangements to be available moving my appointments to Monday.
Nothing arrived when I contacted both Berco and Kalahari.net I was told that due to the weight of the order it wasn't going to be flown down and would only be delivered on Monday. So why not let me know that instead of telling me it would be delivered on Friday? I wasted a day waiting and now have to try and rearrange my appointments on Monday.
This problem can't be resolved but Kalahari.net should have a seperate sms and email notification regarding items that are heavy, that these items will take a day longer to arrive.
