Business Practices
I was a student at Kaplan University. I enrolled in two programs there at the end of 2008. I started off in an Associate's program for a Business degree and since my credits from other schools were accepted I was told it would take me about a year. This was accurate. I also enrolled in a year long medical billing course at the same time with Kaplan and complete both in 2009, with honors. I was shuffled through the returning student office to return the next week for my advanced start bachelor's program. Up to this point my expereince with the school was great, long hold times when I called but overall great. I was scheduled to complete the B.A. in Business Nov 2 2010 because I was getting a scholoarship which was really just a discout for taking three classes at a time instead of two. I got a stipend check over the summer from the student loans that I had taken out and thought no more of it, I usually got a stipend of some sort every term. Then, 2 weeks before I was scheduled to graduate I got a bill for several hundred dollars saying they would hold my degree until it was paid. After hours on the phone with financial aid and student accounts it turned out I was not entitled to the check they sent, they made a mistake and if I did not come up with the money they would hold my transcript and degree. I had planned to attend there for an MBA right after graduation but could not because of this. I was unemployed at the time and it took me finding an MBA program that would accept me with the transcript to follow and take out MORE student loans to pay Kaplan back for their mistake. Now, I paid in January 2011, but it is almost May and I still don't have my diploma! When I called the first time, it was in processing, now when I called this week, no one informed the right department that I had paid the bill four months ago. Very frustrating since I can't FIND A JOB if I can't prove I have a degree.

No Student Support and Too Many Mistakes to Count
Since starting at Kaplan University-online in 2007 I have speant more time trying to correct the mistakes of the school than I have working on my education. Not one year has gone by where my academic advisor has not registered me for too many or too few classes resulting in me paying more money. I don't have a academic advisor so everytime I call i speak to a new person, tell my story, get a diffrent answer. Then there is the sun of the financial aid department that don't ever know what is going on and have no answers to any questions. This has been the most frustrating expereince I have ever had. This school is more concerned with money than students getting an education. There is no support for students and apparently nobody to complain to.

Support negligence
I have been trying to get into my KU profile for days now, I work a swing shift so I stay up late at night so I can sleep with my husband when he gets off his graveyard shift. So I am not awake in the mornings and then I wake up to go to work so by the time I can call to Kaplan University call center no one is there. Where is the support there? It's supposed to be online for people like me have a convinence of going to school when we want to and can. But how is that true when people like me have to wait until their hours of work to get any tech. help? I just dont understand it and I'm very fustrated with the program right now. Some one please tell me how that is helpful if they aren't there to support you?

Poor Service, Lies and Questionable Financial Aid Practices
I have attended Kaplan for almost two years. The first term went great, I guess because I was a new student. After the first term however, things began to go down hill. To this date I have never been able to actually speak with 'my' Financial Aid advisor, instead I have to wait on hold for close to an hour (52 minutes 13 seconds the last time I called) just to speak with a drone who can't answer any questions, has to send an email to someone else, and who will never follow up with you as they promise they will. It took two and a half months to get an answer about a $1000 charge that I supposedly owe the school. Ironically one of the things taught in most of my classes is inter-departmental communication, but when I asked for a conference call between Financial Aid and Student Accounts I was informed that the two departments 'are not allowed' to talk to each other.
All this school is interested in is collecting money and increasing enrollment. They have no real concerns for the student and once you have enrolled the positive, helpful staff you are promised simply disappears.

I WAS a student at Kaplan University Online for 2 years. EVERY single term was the same thing when it came to getting my stipend and balance paid on my accounts. The collections dept. would call me trying to collect when it was their own mix ups. When I did not get a stipend the entire term when the finally got it figured out (for the moment) they said I did not have moneys coming to me since the term was over. I called EVERYDAY hours on hold and hang-ups (get used to that!) just to be told it will be sent out "soon". (yeah right). This is the rudest and most incompetent group of people I have ever had the misfortune to come in contact with! Thanks for the stomach ulcer Kaplan! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS SCHOOL DON'T IF YOU DON'T LIKE STRESS OR BEING LIED TO! i CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!

Finanical aide
I enrolled in Kaplan on May, 28, 2009, started my class on June, 10, 2009. I have a B+, above average and 3.30 GPA. I know that I suppose to receive a disbusement every term as long as my grades are above a C average. Well any way every time it is time for my stipend to be sent out they seem to have a problem with my vertification. Since may it has been har d to talk to my finanical advisor and the only time she get in touch is when I call and complain. I think this school is one of the most unprofessional school I ever encounter.
