I worked for them for about three months. I was fired because I did not meet my sales quotas. As an Admissions Advisor you are required to sell a certin number of people on enrolling at Kaplan. I began classes in a MS program, but dropped the class due to the quality of the program. I attended less than two weeks. When I withdrew, I was told by financial aid that my account was clear. Now, after a couple of months they are calling me daily asking for 100.00. I received one statement that had no description of the charge. One caller told me it was an administrative charge, but could not give me any details. I have told them, the last four times they have called, not to call me again. When I receive a statement with a legit. charge description I would contact them.
7/9/10 @ 8:44 am, 7/8/10 early evening. The first three calls were not logged by me, but they record everything.

MY name is kenisa slaughter I started kaplan april 21st I think, which was suposed to be the first day of classes. I was in Intro classes and in order to NOT be in intro classes i had to take a test before hand, I dont remeber what it was called I passed it once and i think i got a 15. They told me if i took it again and made a 20 I believe it was then i wouldnt have to be in intro classes so i took it again and made a score that would qualify me to NOT be in intro classes. They school told me I couldnt start my classes till my financial aid was approved and I got the last paper faxed in on the first day of classes and they had blocked me that morning from my classes but then reopend them in the same day so i could begin my class work, they told me my fianancial aid had been approved. In one week I faxed in 3-4 different papers atleast 4 times each and each time i filled out a paper i was on the phone with someone from kaplan that went over the paper work with me and told me what to fill out. So if i did exactly what they told me to do why did i still have to keep filling out the same papers over and over again and sometimes making corrections to the same papers that they themselves helped me fill out. I ended up doing three weeks worth of into classes, Two of them. They crap with kaplan and the paper work kept on and on and i got so tired of talking to different people, Never getting phone calls returned, Being on hold for hours on end. I did everything they told me to do and got it done on time and they still kept asking for the same papers, It was like no one at kaplan knew what they were doing. I always talked to someone different it was hardly ever the same person. I made corrections to my FASFA atleast 3 times because one employee at kaplan told me to put yes on something that i actually needed to put No on. I got so fed up that I called my advisor, His name was bill. I told them i wanted to un enroll at kaplan and no longer wanted to attend their school. It has been impossible to un enroll. I tried to un enroll about 2 months ago and i am still not un enrolled and I found out I did three weeks worth of classes and my financial aid had never been approved in the first place. Now they are wanting me to pay them $3, 772.50 for THREE WEEKS! My financial aid was suposed to be approved and it wasnt, they lied to me! They tried talking me out of un enrolling, I almost thought they werent going to let me then they downed me from dropping out and telling me that i just needed to finish my classes. After I talked to two people about un enrolling they told me i had to be transferd to fianancial aid to get that set up and find out how much i would owe but i shouldnt have to owe anything. You cant tell me financial aid wont pay for three weeks worth of two classes!??? I havent heard from them since i tried un enrolling until the end of may 2010 and now they are asking me to send in the same papers i have sent in 6 times or more! Im so tired of this and i dont feel i should have to pay them anything! I told them from the start I cant affor anything, I cant pay for anything! I dont have any proof of anything other then family witness's and the calls that are suposed to be recorded at kaplan.
Im 19yrs old and I have my own house and I do not live with my father. Kaplan has claimed me as a dependant because i am not married, I dont have kids and Im not 25yrs. Old. I have never heard of such crap! They wanted my father to take out a parent loan... FOR WHAT??? Hes not going to school I am. Which im not now. I dont know what to do, Kaplan has really screwed me over

I been at Kaplan University Online for 2 years now. They first told me that I dont have to pay nothing aut of pocket, than 4 months later I got a call from Student Accounts telling me that I owe the school out of pocket money. They transfer me to the Financial Aid office, I spoke with a lady and she said the loan was erased by an "error "and they will fix it, but it can take couple of weeks.

So I waited and every day I got calls from Student accunts, they said until the Financial Aid office dont fix my account, they wil keep callime me. So I waitted a month and call back, they said that they are still working on it. I wait 2 weeks, an than they said that there is nothing that they can do about it and they have to tell the managment about it. Financila aid said the managment will be working on it and will call me back. This happed 3 weeks ago and i havent got no calls from financial aid telling me a resolution.

I been emaling at least 3 financial aid officers and they never repsond to me. I have about 2-3 pages of email that i printed, and I have proff that they dont email me back.

So anyways I am still waitting for them to call me... hopefully they fix the problem that they calld error. Seen all this complanits worrys me a lot.

KAPLAN UNIVERSITY IS HOLDING MY STUDENT STIPEND HOSTAGE THEY REFUSE TO POST IT TO MY ACCOUNT AND THEY REFUSE TO TALK ABOUT IT OR EXPLAIN THIS SCHOOL IS STEALING MONEY I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR AND THEY ARE MANIPULATING THE FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM IF YOU ENROLL YOU TOO WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE F.A DEPARTMENT GIVING YOU THE RUN AROUND AND CHARGING YOU OVER 50000 DOLLARS FOR AN A.S DEGREE AND ALMOST 100000IF YOU DECIDE TO GO TO THE MBA ALL THE EAY THROUGH WITH THEM YOUR DOCUMENTS WILL BE SIGNED WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION THE DOCUMENTS YOU HAND IN WILL BE REQUESTED AGAIN AND AGAIN TO HOLD UP THE PROCESS YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO LIES AND CENSORSHIP THIS SCHOOL IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SCAM AND YOU WILL BE STUCK GO TO ANY COMPLAINT BOARD AND SEE EMAIL ME AND I CAN GIVE YOU GRAVE DETAIL OF MY CURRENT EXPERIENCE I AM CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND I FEEL LIKE A PRISONER OF THE SCHOOL !!! BEWARE GO TO SCHOOL ONLINE WITH A LOCAL STATE OR FAMILIAR BRICK AND MORTAR SCHOOL THIS SCHOOL IS A SCAM A FINANCIAL LIE !

I was a student at Kaplan from 2/09 thru 4/09. I was assured that because I was a veteran that was eligible for the GI Bill, and I was laid off form work so I would be eligible for money from the government I was assured I would have no out of pocket expenses by my Military advisor Wendy Robinson. After completing the first term and enrolling for the second I was notified by Kaplan that I have a Balance of $4100.oo! I tiold them that I was not able to pay out of pocket at the time and they locked me out of my classes. Later I found out that they had locked me out of those classes but still charged me for them. Now I'm trying to enroll at another University so that I can finish my degree but can't. According to the new school I need the transcripts from Kaplan so that they can do a degree audit. So now I'm stuck up S#!* creek without a paddle. Anyone who has any advice or help please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you from this discouraged Veteran...
