Have endured 2 installations of VERY expensive Karastan carpet - $35/sq.yd - that crushed/matted/cornrowed after 10 MONTHS. Mohawk, Karastan's parent company, has refused for 3 LONG YEARS to take responsibility for this hideous carpet. Mohawk WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR SHODDY, SECOND-RATE PRODUCT.

They have stonewalled, stalled, ignored and deflected our complaints. We hired a lawyer and filed a lawsuit in January, 2009. They hired a lawyer, who stonewalled, stalled, ignored and deflected OUR lawyer's complaints. He ran up huge legal fees in an attempt to get us to give up.

After 1 1/2 years of this nonesense, we finally have a court-ordered mediation date set for March 17th. A judge will preside over the negotiations. We will FINALLY meet our foe face-to-face and, hopefully, FORCE THEM to reimburse us for the carpet, moving fees, hotel stays, and legal fees that amount to thousands.

Wish us luck . . we've hung in there for so long. We have six weeks to go and it feels like six YEARS!! I want to make them PAY for all of the pain, frustration and expenses their negligence and fraudulent misrepresentation of their product has cost us. We are among the VERY FEW who've had the stamina and determination to get this far. Don't honk me off 'cause I'll NEVER, EVER STOP until I get what is due me.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out. May have a "gag" on the amount, but I CAN let you know that we won . . that they had to take responsibility for their AWFUL, AWFUL PRODUCT, and pay us $$$$$ back.
