I responded to the system prompt to renew my subscription to Kaspersky Internet Security on November 23, 2010 at a cost of US $59.95 (CDN $62.60). I have since discovered that I could have purchased the product for as little as $19.99 [See for instance http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/kaspersky-internet-security-2011-3-users/10153032.aspx].
I believe Kaspersky Lab’s practice of building code into software, referring owners to their sole authorized on-line seller (Digital River) who, in turn, is overcharging for the product is deceptive and unethical. I am extremely disappointed that Kaspersky Labs would reward its existing loyal customers by charging 3 times the retail price of the product for on-line renewals.
BUYER BEWARE!!!
