We bought a pair of Sears Kenmore washer and dryer. 1st off they were installed backwards doors open into each other. 2nd thy were never leveled can only use medium spin or shakes out of the room. Now the seal on the washer has broke have to tape it every time we use it. The guy that installed them was very rude and unprofessional. I will not call the Bryan sears to try and have this fixed. I do not want this guy in my house ever again. And we live less than a mile from sears on the same road. My name is Robert Lucas and I will never buy anything ever from Sears. I paid big bucks for junk that has never worked right since we bought them. In my books Sears and their delivery guy the one that used to drive the red truck are a waist of time and money. Never again and I will inform everyone I know what they have done to me. BOB

Replacement parts for Fridge
We have a Kenmore Fridge that came with our home. The shelving are brittle plastic and the end clips break on a regular basis (replaced 5 in 3 years). Usually we go to the parts and service depot in Edmonton, buy the part and head home. July 2009 the company in its infinite wisdom decided that all parts now will be sent from Bellville Ont. So now you go to the empty parts and service depot (they only carry the top 100 replacement parts for all Sears products) and look at a schematic and order the part. It will either be sent to the depot (across town where you have to head again in 5 to 10 business days per part) or you can pay $6.95 per part to have it sent to your address.
On August 21 I ordered the top shelf (I have broken one of the clips off the top when I had to replace the hanger for the meat crisper) and this was supposed to come with the hangers for the crisper, and yet another shelf for the door. Turns out it came with the metal clips on the top of the shelf so you could attach the hangers for the crisper. So after waiting 3 weeks for the shelf to come in I had to order the hanger. I had a left and needed a right hanger. Called the number on the parts and service reciept and talked to Linda in Regina (18 hours from here) and she placed the order. I was only supposed to be charged for the part but they also charged my credit card for shipping (6.95) and then in 3 days the wrong hanger showed up. They sent me another left hand hanger not a right hanger. So then I contacted Linda and she referred me to the Customer Service number because they don't process returns. I contacted customer service in Toronto and was told that they could send me the new hanger but that I would be charged another 6.99 for the new part and they would have to take 20% off the return of the wrong hanger (even though I didn't order it) and that the shipping would not be returned. I asked to speak to a supervisor and then they gave me yet another number (in Ottawa) so that I could contest this. The person there tried to transfer me back to Linda in Regina because this was a parts and service product. Finally after yet another customer service phone number found someone who authorized the return (at full price plus the shipping that I wasn't supposed to be charged) and then told me to call Linda in Regina again to order the right part (no shipping). So another charge on my credit card for the right hanger. Linda was also supposed to send me a return envelope to return the left hanger. Finally 1 month after the initial order the right part came in the mail. I had to break down the shelf for the second time (did it the first time when the 1st hanger came in the mail then had to put it back together) but had to wait another week for the return label envelope to come to replace the left hanger. So to get 2 pretty basic parts for my fridge it cost me countless hours on the phone. 2 shipping charges at 7.95 (the cost from Edmonton to Toronto) another 6.99 for the right hanger, still waiting for the return of the 14.95 for the wrong part, and weeks of aggravation.
Edmonton has 1 million people and there are 5 million people in Alberta. Regina has 190 thousand people and about 1 million people in Saskatchewan. The part was shipped from Regina. So no where in Alberta can you now get parts for my Kenmore fridge from a Sears Parts depot but I can get them from a neighbouring province. Or because they are frigedaire, ect parts I can go to Trail Appliances or another major appliance supplier if I know the parts that I need. I can walk out today with the part and by-pass Sears altogether. S
Sears used to go that extra mile for their customers so that is why all of our appliances are Kenmore. We have bought Kenmore for 20 years and both of our sets of parents always bought Kenmore, but now it just isn't worth the hassle. We had a Kenmore Upright Freezer that cost us 1800 on sale. When we got a freon leek they told us that there was no way to fix this and that the freezer was now junk. So we had to throw out a 4 year old freezer. The repair man told us that we would be better with a chest freezer because they can remove the liner and easily fix these. We had 300 dollars worth of food rot away because we had no place to keep it. So we bought a 2oo dollar small freezer from the grocery store.

I contacted sears regarding my microwave which isn't working properly. I had the same exact problem with it 6 months ago and the part was replaced at no charge. At that time I was told that the part had a 5 year warranty. When I called on 9/22/09, I talked to a very rude little man who told me that I would have to pay $129 for a service call plus parts. I told him that was ridiculous and he told me that that's the way it works. I asked to speak to a supervisor to try to resolve the matter. He told me that it didn't matter who I talked to, the results would be the same. He told me his supervisor would tell me the same thing. He then put me through to the customer solutions dept. I spoke to a female there who told me the party had a 5 year warranty and that I would not be charged for the call or the part. Unfortunately, I didn't get the rude little man's name otherwise, I'd report him to somebody who would listen.

no repair
Dear sir.
I am a long term customer with Sears for over 20 years. I was contacted by Sears to buy a extended warrany on
my washer and dryer and I agreed to buy it was charged a little less than $ 400.00 when I did call for service I was
told they had no record and no service and after several calls trying to get service I paid for no luck so I had to call
a outside service for repair. As of this date no help from Sears. I am not asking for something I did not pay for but
I would like to get what I paid for. This is a theft of services wuould you not agree.
I am trying to resolve this with you and I have not made any more purcheses at Sears and will not till this
is resolved Please have someone contact me to get this behind us and I can contenue to shop at Sears.

REPAIRS ON WASHER
2 YEARS AGO WE PURCHASED A KENMORE WASHER, PAID $1000.00 FOR IT, ONLY 2 YEARS LATER THE MACHINE STARTING MAKING NOISE. CALL FOR SERVICE AND ON 8/27/09 WESTERN GREAT LAKE CAME OUT AND SAID THE BEARINGS WERE BAD. SO ANOTHER $320.26 HE ORDERED THE PART. SO ON 9/8/09 WESTERN GREAT LAKES CAME OUT AND SAID I CAN'T FIX THE WASHER LOTS OF OTHER THINGS WRONG WITH IT. SO HE ORDERED MORE PARTS AND WE HAD AN APPT. SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY 9/18/09, NOW THEY CALLED AND CANCELED BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE 2 TECHNICIANS. RIGHT NOW WE ARE VERY UNHAPPY. FIRST OF ALL, WE SPEND $1000.00 FOR SOMETHING TO GO BAD ONLY AFTER 2 YEARS, AND NOW WE CAN'T GET SOMEOUT HERE TO FIX IT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 8/27/09. AS OF RIGHT NOW, I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANY MORE FROM SEARS. I HAVE BEEN BUYING ALL OUR APPLIANCES AT SEARS FOR YEARS, NOW I WILL DEFINATLY NOT PURCAHSE ANYMORE. I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. NOW WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY 9/22/09. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS SERVICE AND PRODUCT.

Very disappointed
I have a kenmore front load washer and dryer. And I am very unhappy with the mold in the washer and how the dryer takes forever to dry. I asked the dept. I bought them from and also called the company they said to buy the tablets to clean it with. I did so but nothing worked. I would take a top load even a cheap top load. All I know is I just retired from sears and I am very disappointed that they do not stand behind there products. I have been on line and read the many complaints that are listed. And read many newspaper articles on them. Also I saw Ruth to the Rescue also had the washer problem, I would like to know what happen with hers. I have allergy's and very bad migraines so I am sure this does not help me or others. With all the resources there are today the government should be able to do something about things like this.

Relay switch burning up compressor
I just read the complaint from the lady in a Fort Wayne, IN that had the relay switch burn up her compressor. The SAME thing happened to us last month and we have the same model number. It was manufactured in 2004. Luckily it was a Sunday morning and we were home when we awoke to the "smell". We have real wood floors in our kitchen and now we have a burned spot in the floor. We also were lucky not to have a house fire.
Sears did the same thing and took no responsibility. We also had to replace the ice maker last year as well.
No more Kenmore for me.

Customer Service
Sears has no way to access "helpful" appliance specifications or access to installers manuals.
Additionally, they kept me on hold for 15 minutes to talk to someone who had no idea what I was asking for and kept spewing out information anyone could look up on the internet. Then they transferred me to someone they said "would" be able to help, where I was put on hold for 40 minutes, only to be told they had no help and every answer they would give me was available on-line. And...no "real" complaint department, how convenient. As a cabinet company, I always refer my customers AWAY from shopping at sears. Now I have even more reason to do so. Cheers.

Microwave Oven Model 721-63252
Today I dumped our replaced Kenmore Microvave at Sears Repair Center. This second one lasted 15 months. The first one lasted 8 months.
There will not be a third. Being told to buy extended warranty is not an answer. Good riddance to Kenmore/Sears. Once upon a time products were meant to last a long time; now, they are cheaply made, the better to break down sooner, rather than later. The result is to force unsatisfied consumers to continue replacing products, while creating endless landfills. And no thanks to Consumer Reports on this recommendation. They base them on very short term test.

AIR CONDITIONER UNIT
We purschased an air conditioner unit from Sears paid $5000.00 cash for this unit. After for waiting a week to get the unit, the guy came with the wrong unit. They had a unit for an apartment and we live in a two story home. Well we had to wait another week for the unit to arrive at our home. This unit comes bent and broken on the trip over to our home, they said, so they try to fix it at our home and had no luck, this was on a Friday so now they are saying wait until Monday. Oh, let me tell you that this is in the summer and it is about 100 degrees. So you can only imagine how it feels inside. Well we finally get the unit install and the first we it cut off. We call them back. They get it running again. Two weeks goes by and it is out again. Now this unit we had troubles with every since we had it. It is goes on 3 years now and Sears do not want to talk to us anymore. We have had over 20 different services on this unit and no one at Sears want to help us with this situation. I have been hung up on, yelled at, and spoken to very rudely and some of the service papers that I have they do not have any record of them. Please do not buy any major appliances from them they do not back up their product. 100% Satisfication is false. I asked several times for a new unit they told me that they can not do that they will send a tech out. We consumers go to Sears because it a name that we trust so we thought. GO TO BEST BUY OR LOWES ANYWHERE BUT SEARS!!!
