Burning refridgerator
I woke up this morning to a kitchen filled with smoke. My Kenmore Coldspot 106.51272201 was burning. I found the problem, the relay device on the compressor melted and was burning. The compressor is destroyed along with the relay box.
I called Kenmore and they said that I was welcome to pay full price for all the repairs. Nice! It could have caught the house on fire and killed us in our sleep if it had happened in the middle of the night.
I believe Kenmore knows about this flaw but chooses to ignore it. I am considering a lawsuit to force them into action. Somebody is going to get killed from this defective product if they haven't already.

Beware of this company
Buyer Beware! This expensive refrigerator looks great. In reality the 25' three door holds less than my old 21'. Extra points for design stupidity include a door shelf for eggs that is about 1/4 inch short for a carton of eggs. Shelfs on door are nice and deep but so close together that a regular milk cartons and condiment bottles will not go into shelves. The drawer below the crispers is one solid drawer requiring that both doors be opened to remove anything from the tray. The ice dispenser is less than 1/4 inch too short for a nomal drinking glass thereby rendering the water and ice dispenser an annoyance rather than a convenience.

Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer
I bought a Kenmore Elite HE3t Frontload Washer & Dryer. Have 2 1/2 years I started getting this F11 code during the spin cycle. I could not get past the spin cycle. I called Sears and it would be a 65.00 charge for service to come out. I paid 2200 for washer and dryer. Service person came and said it would be 552.00 +/- to repair the washer. I said I wanted a second opinion. He said it was the circuit board. I call another service person from another company and he said he could fix it, but it would be 400.00 +/- and a week for the part.
They had me over a barrel. Please do not buy this machine. I will never buy another Sears product.

I registered for the refrigerator not being enery star rated. I was supposed to receive a monetary rebate for the use of energy. I have not heard anything, except the email stating they received my registration. How and when am I to receive my money?

Terrible experience
Kenmore Elite Dishwasher 13112 installed 4/4/09 by sub-contractor in norther suburbs of Chicago. Delivered dishwasher on an open flatbed trailer w/ a flat tire. Thank goodness it had quit running. First run of dishwasher and water was rushing all over the floor from he base of the dishwasher. Spent 2 hrs on the phone being switched from Installation to Installer to Technical Service to Service and back around. No one would come out and take a look at it - best they could do was 3 days. In the meantime I had water damage in my basement due to the volume of water. Installer shows up 2 days later and removes the dishwasher. Says it was the dishwasher that was faulty.
Tried many departments- Customer Service, local store (could never get them to even answer the phone!), National Customer Service. Finally, our case lands in the "Escalations Dept" Talked w/ them and they said they would help resolve. Didn't hear from them for a week. Called them and found out that they are not going to pay for any damages done to the basement (sent pictures of ruined ceiling tiles, dripping ceiling supports, etc). They say it's the installers fault and that he should pay- they determined this w/out having seen the dishwasher. Installer says it's Sears fault. NO resolution after many hours of persistent phone calls.
Sears customer service is sub-par and their outsourcing of the installations isn't not managed well if Sears doesn't take responsibility for installer's errors.

Kenmore Oven Fire
We had to call the Fire Department for the first time in our lives because our Kenmore oven bake element started to burn after being on for 30 minutes. After turning the power dial to off it continued to burn and spark and flash. The element only stopped burning after we turned the breaker to the power outlet off. This is a DANGEROUS appliance: Model 911.95589992. We bought it in 2001.

Awful quality product
I purchased a Kenmore washer on in May 2004 and it has not cleaned well since the day I bought it. Now, it is pulling the threads out of some very expensive towels and bath rugs just purchased. Each time I washed the towels or rugs, there are hundreds of thread pulls in the material... I have examined the interior of the wash tub carefully to see what may be caused this - but, have found nothing. Is there anyone else out there experiencing this problem?

Awful customer service
I purchased a new STOVE 11/08 used self cleaning oven for 1st time when it finished glass door was all streaked in between glass looking like it was a 100 years old. Unable to wipe it clean as stain was in between glass I called Sears, service tech came out, he was very nice but unable to help with the problem. I was told this was common, so I asked to replace the door with one that had no glass and was told this was not a option. It has been over 20 years since my last stove purchase so I was hoping this one would last as did the last one. This one already looks like it has been used for many years. If I was told this would be a problem I would have purchased another with a solid door. Sears hasn't even made an attempt to correct the problem and we are very unhappy with their customer service.

mildew
My 2 year old Kenmore HE2 plus front load washer has a growing mildew problem. I only use small amounts of HE detergent. I have always left the door open when not in use. I don't let clothes sit for long periods of time in the washer. Despite this the rubber door ring is covered in non removable mildew, which is spreading. Searching online, I see that this is a major problem with Kenmore front loaders. There are even several class action suits being filed.
Is there any recall for this? I am very unhappy with my expensive washing machine.
