Keyes Audi rips you off. They are rude, condescending, and unknowledgeable about what they actually service. Having been a service writer for a Jaguar dealer, I can tell you, Buy your car from the dealer who treats their customer the best. Your relationship is with the service department not the sales people.
I bought my 1997 Audi Cabriolet from Keyes Lexus as a used car in 2000. It came with a service warranty for 3 years or 30, 000 mi. I had to have it serviced at Keyes to honor the warranty, a process that taught me to hate them.
Every time I had an issue they would argue that it wasn't under warranty. I would pull out the paperwork and show that it was covered. The last straw was the transmission was slipping. I tried for a month to get in to have it serviced, but they were too busy to schedule an appointment. When it finally got in I was told it just needed a new transmission mount, I drove away and said the next day it was still slipping. They wouldn't let me bring it back! After another week I left the car at Keyes and they said now it needed a new transmission, but the warranty had expired the week before. I said this was an ongoing complaint as I had brought the car in and it was mis-diagnosed the week before, therefore under warranty. After haggling with them, and them going to their "Bosses" they finally agreed, (all this time me not having a car) as soon as I got it back I never returned.
But now 5 years later the car overheated, and was un-drive able. I had it taken to the closest dealer and it was...Keyes! They diagnosed a broken thermo switch and said they could repair it. While looking at the car they decided to look over for more money, er, any other problems and say I need a new timing belt, water pump, CV boots, and have 2 oil leaks all of which would cost over $4000.00 to fix on a car that is worth at best $7000.00. I said no just fix the thermo switch and make it drivable, to wit I was told it would cost $1100.00!? I provided the factory repair schedule to them that shows the repair time being a half hour plus parts should have been around $200.00. Instead they charged me for 11 hours of labour, plus parts for a total of almost $1350.00!
Now the good part-They did the same job 6 years ago replaced the same parts for $290.00. That's almost a 10 times in-crease! I called Audi of America, and they talked to the dealership who said that they had to flush out the non-Audi coolant from the radiator five times taking an hour and a half each time before they could fill the radiator with Audi coolant. Now they had told me it took 11 hours because of where the thermo switch was located, they are obviously full of shyte, I ca only imagine if this had happened under warranty again that they wouldn't dare bill AoA 11 hours of labour for replacing a thermo switch!
Again- Keyes Audi rips you off. They are rude, condescending, and unknowledgeable about what they actually service.
