KIA Motors Reviews

Stay away from this dealership
I brought my 07 Sedona for service. I brought it in for an oil change and to fix a tire, along with some other warranty issues. I informed Dave that I wanted an OIL CHANGE. Dave wrote down, in his own writing, 4000k service. I did not see that Dave wrote something different from what I said. I signed the papers and left. Why would Dave write something different than what I said down as I was saying it? The next day, I pick up my Sedona, get home and realize that I was charged $54.95 instead of the usual $33 dollars or so. I called and spoke to Dave who was adamant that I "signed" for the services. I NEVER authorized this service. I was then handed over to one of the most rude and ignorant managers that I have ever spoken too. Pat was condescending, disrespectful, and flat out ignorant. He kept repeating over and over again that I signed for it. Dave clearly wrote down the wrong thing and then charged me more money. Pat informed me that I have to opt out of the 4000 mile service at the time of scheduling. How is a person supposed to opt of a service that they don't know they are getting. I will be contacting the attorney general about this blatant fraud.

Dear Muhammad Admin Inayat,

This letter is to acknowledge the receipt of your latest mail to this department. I am Barr. LARRY STEVEN WESTON (Hons.), the Principal Attorney KIA Motors Promotion Law Department and I am your legal representative for the KIA MOTORS CORPORATION, KIA SOUL CAR PROMOTION, To represent you for the claim of your winning prize of £550, 000 (Five Hundred and Fifty Thounsand British Pounds) and your new 2010 KIA Soul Car, I will procure all the necessary court affidavits document, that would enable endorsement by proxy on your behalf for the immediate release of your winning funds of £550, 000 British Pounds into your nominated bank account in your country, and also the swift delivery of your new 2010 KIA Soul Car and other additional Prizes as COMPAQ Presario CQ61 Laptop, KIA Motors T-Shirt, and Face Cap to your residence through our Company's Courier Department.

Be informed that your cheque of £550, 000.00 British Pounds and your claims file has been forwarded to my office today, For security reasons it is protected by the Promotion Insurance Policy, That makes it impossible for anyone to deduct any charges or remove any copy of the documents before handing over to you, In accordance with the BRITISH GOVERNMENT LOTTERY GAMING BOARD Section 223, Sub-Section 49 of the Year 2005 by the constitutional assembly.

The cost of contracting an accredited attorney for the procurement of your court affidavits and the signing of the International payment voucher is very minimal because this has been subsidised by the KIA Corporation Promotion Board. It is on the low side, compared to contracting an attorney from outside.

The cost is calculated at the Royal Courts of Justice as 0.09% of your winning funds of £550, 000.00 Pounds and in this regard, it is interpreted as £495 GBP (four hundred and five British Pounds).

Listed below are the Documents that I would need to procure from the court on your behalf:

1. Affidavit of Prize Ownership/Claims Authority.
2. Authorization of Representative.
3. Affidavit Certificate.
4. Memorandum of Understanding.

* The above documents will grant legal approval to our transferring bank to transfer your complete funds of £550, 000 British Pounds to your personal account, I will need to procure the above documents from the Royal Courts of Justice immediately, and thereafter I will submit the documents to our accredited transferring bank to enable them commence the transfer of your winning funds directly to your personal account in your country.

I will need to have the exact amount of £495 GBP (four hundred and ninety-five British Pounds) which is required for the procurement of the above affidavits at the Royal Courts of Justice to enable me commence the documentation process and proceed to the Bank immediately to transfer your funds over to your personal account in your country.

Be informed that the time frame to redeem your entitlement is not exactly unlimited, You are thus advised to act fast and get the documentation fee to enable my immediate action to commence your document processing immediately, So that I can complete the documentation and finalize the transfer process of your winning funds to your account immediately I present these documents and your winning cheque to our Bank.

Acknowledge the receipt of my e-mail, and Get back to me as soon as possible, to enable me send payment information to you on how you can transfer the requested amount of £495 Pounds to this office to enable me commence the documentation process immediately.

Very poor quality
I bought a 2001 KIA Sportage 4x4 when it had only 17 miles on it. I can't use the 4x4 in the winter because it freezes when the temp. reaches 32 degrees F. The KIA mechanic told me there is a condensation box that is exposed to the elements. He said the whole vehicle was very poorly designed.

I have gone through 4 heater blower motors. There is a screen right under the windshield that allows debris and water to get into the blower unit. The garage manager of the KIA dealership told me that was also a very poor design on KIA's part. I have to pay for it though. The water gets into the motor and shorts out the unit. After the third unit I had installed, he told me to make sure I keep the air recirculation on. This will close the vent and keep most of the water out. The problem with doing that though is all of the windows fog up.

When the rear window washer ran out of fluid, I took it into the garage. There was a tube missing and I was told I had to be the one who broke it. I told them I brought it in because I couldn't get the door open for the fill tube. They refused to believe me or repair it.

At 20, 000 miles, I had to have all of the belts replaced due to dry rot. I live in the Midwest. That repair cost me almost $600. There was a squeal and I kept taking it back only to be told that was a normal sound. By the time I took it to another garage, I was told the belts were not installed with the right tension and now I have to have two pulleys and all of the belts replaced again.

The KIA warranty is totally worthless as everything that has gone wrong, I have been told is not covered. I had them replace the windshield wiper blades replace by KIA. It fell apart within 2 weeks and scratched the windshield. It was raining and I had to use them to get to the garage. I was told that it was not their problem either. This is the only vehicle I own and cannot afford to buy another car. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. No wonder I got a good deal when I bought it.

Did not complete purchase poor
Do not do business with this guy. He is a scam artist and filthy mouth that needs to be brushed with lots of soap. He does not pay his bills. He just trys to ask for more information to weezle out of paying for things. Buyer beware on ebay and other sites. Bill Gelinas has some problems with things but hopefully one day he will get things sorted out and get some type of conseling that can indeed help him overcome his big mouth problems. I wished that he would get some help for him self quickly because he is very anoying to listen to its like a cry baby but 3 times that by your side.

Bad business practices
Kia dealership(Bourne, MA)owner Robert Scena was forced to close his doors due to bad buisness practices, but not before ripping 100's of people off. He got me for $1800. I purchased the extended warranty for $1200. and the Gap insurance for $600. He took the money and never sent in the paperwork to the proper companies. Therefore I am out my $1800., and I have no coverage. The car inself is a piece of crap, and I'm sure that extended warranty would have come in handy in the very near future. Kia is a disgrace for allowing any loser off the street to open a dealership selling their goods and ripping off unsuspecting, hard-working customers.

Unfair and Deceptive trade practices
My wife and I purchased a 2009 Kia Borrego from the Paramount Kia of Asheville North Carolina dealership for $35, 782.00 on October 16, 2009. We returned to the dealership on Friday, December 4, 2009 to sell the vehicle back (due to our dissatisfaction with it) and we were given a ballpark figure of $21, 000 as its value and were told that the used car sales manager would have to approve any re-purchase of the vehicle and also approve the amount.
We made several attempts to contact the used car sales manager (Dean Blanton) over the course of approximately a week and were not given the simple courtesy of a call back for approximately a week. We have since been informed that the vehicle will not be re-purchased by this dealership at any price. We had specifically asked the salesperson (Tonia Burleson) during the purchase process if this vehicle would retain its value well and we were both told by her that it would.
The vehicle at present has approximately 2300 miles on the odometer and the vehicle has no damage or defects whatsoever (other than those which may be inherent to the Kia manufacturing process itself.) When I remarked about the vehicle apparently not seeming to hold its value very well the only response I got from Ms. Burleson in the way of explanation was simply "it's not my fault". I'm not only troubled by the seeming lack of quality and thence value on the part of this almost brand new vehicle but also by the apathy and discourtesy shown by this member of the sales staff.
We also asked during the sales process if the vehicle was front wheel drive and we were told that it was. We have since discovered that it’s not. We would never have purchased the vehicle had we been truthfully informed that it was not front wheel drive. We also were due a balance on our trade in and we were not told that our check would not be available until the following week until after we had signed the sales contract. The person who had to sign the check had somehow “conveniently” just left the dealership.
We have since found the vehicle to be woefully underpowered and that it has an overwhelmingly “cheap” and exceedingly light feel to it and lacks traction and stability under any and all driving conditions. In summary, we are both completely dissatisfied with the sales experience, the vehicle, the dealership, and Kia Corporation as a whole. Based on my experience in the legal field I feel that these actions on the part of the dealership and Kia Corporation constitute unfair and deceptive trade practices and are just downright bad business as well as some of the worst treatment by a car dealer we have experienced in the last 20 plus years. We both felt as though we were told whatever would serve to get us signed off on the sales contract and out the door with the vehicle.
We would respectfully request a meeting with the general manager of the dealership to attempt to resolve this matter before resorting to arbitration or legal action to seek an appropriate remedy. If we could simply sell the vehicle at a reasonable portion of its original price after normal depreciation we could possibly walk away from this situation with some semblance of fairness. I wish we had done our homework and discovered beforehand the numerous complaints and lawsuits against Kia of America and their product line. Had we done so we would never have purchased the vehicle.
