Termination
I was terminated from a Kindercare center after reporting an incident that I felt totally inappropriate for 22 month olds to be engaging in. The day after I filled out the incident report and reported it to my superiors I was accused of saying inappropriate things to the mother of the child (by the mother). There were no witnesses...or so they say. I happen to know there was a witness and in order to protect this individual I will not disclose a name...however, let it be known that the "investigation" that cost me my job failed to recognize a "witness". This mother has a history of being dishonest with the center. When asked if I knew of any reason that the mom would make up things I told the truth...NO. The fact is she wanted ME to be the victim rather than take the responsibility for her child's action.<br />
As a child care organization, EVERYONE is mandated to report ANY suspicison of child abuse. When I reported this I was informed it was NOT sexual! When I was terminated I was informed they were" SUSPICIOUS AND KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON THE FAMILY". My bosses, too are MANDATED to report"!. <br />
What's wrong with this picture??? I suspect, I report, I am fired and accused of saying inappropriate things. Hmmmmm
When I asked what I could do to remedy or oppose this descision I was told "nothing". No griveance procedure?

Terrible Place to send your child
MY child attended this center in the one year old room and was sent home on a weekly basis with numerous incident reports of him being injured(sometimes no report, just cuts and bruises). I met with district directors and center directors and no change was made. The teachers here lack responsibilty and have rather chit chat with eachother than watch your children. The ceneter director has no authority and the assistant director acts as though she has no clue what goes on at her center. Bottom line if you care about your child's safety DO NOT SEND THEM TO KINDERCARE!!!

Awful company
KinderCare, just does not Care. They only Care about money that is brought in by the Care that they SAY that they provide to the children in their Care. Unfortunately, most parents believe them. I was the permanent/full-time KLA teacher for 4 centers for over 4.5 years, (totally growing the program). I resigned my position on March 30, 2008, due to unfair corporate practices directed towards me, a TEACHER.
I strongly believe that Preschool teachers NEED to have a Union to represent them. I know that I would still be working at KinderCare if one were in force that specifically targeted the needs of Preschool Teachers.

Terrible experience!
Do not work for this company or take your child there. They will say anything to get you to bring your child there. Believe me, they try to brainwash staff into telling the parents anything they want to hear to get parents to bring their kids to the center. They say they want to make sure the things happening in the center are in the best interest of the children. What a crock!!! All they care about is the money.
Staff are paid crap and are overworked. They are expected to work overtime and make everything seem perfect for the parents, but it is all for show. They want you to do all these activities with the kids but don't supply the materials you need to do them. Then you get in trouble when you don't do them.
Kids are treated improperly. They are physically and emotionally abused and its not taken care of properly. Staff are treated improperly. They hire people who will work for the least amount of money. Parents are treated improperly. They are charged ridiculous amounts of money to send their kids there and their kids don't get any of what the managers tell parents they will get if they bring their kid there.
I had a parent who I was friends with that their kid heard the assistant director talking to another teacher about going out and getting drunk. Then driving home drunk. Her kid was so scared to get on the bus with this person (the assistant) because the kid thought she would be drunk, that my friend took her kid out of the school. When she went to the head of the center, she was told that the assistant director would be talked to. What?!? She was talking about drunk driving in front of the kids. I left there right after that. I don't want to work with someone like that. Nothing was done about this. Scary!
Avoid this place at all costs!
