I recently visited my 89 year old mom at her senior citizen apt building in Parma Hts, Ohio. They have 2 elevators for an eight floor building. One of them has not been working for over three weeks. It really upset me to see these elderly people having to wait a long time for the elevator. It is difficult for a lot of the residents to walk let alone have to stand and wait for the elevator. When it finally reaches their floor they get on whether it is going in the direction they want. Otherwise they would have to wait even longer. Another concern which I feel is unsafe is the fact that a gurney does not fit in the elevator. The one broken is the larger one. Recently someone was taken to the hospital and they had to put the gurney in an uppright position since there wasn't enough room to have it in a flat position. I feel this is a terrible way to treat our senior citizens.
