Quality of merchandise
Kirby vacuums are too difficult to handle, too heavy. They are so noisy that EPA and OSHA should both issue warnings on them. They do not do a better job than most others and they are far too expensive. I would far rather use use a $39 sweeper from Walmart. We have missed many important phone calls because we can't hear the phone over the noise of this piece of junk.

Ruined my floor
Kirby vacuum ruined my tile floor. I was told by salesperson that I could use kirby vacuum on my stone tile floor. I followed the directions in the manual and the kirby vacuum left scratches all over my floor (not repairable). I contacted Kirby, they told me it was my fault for not reading directions - after I told them that I was told by an employee in their company that I could use this on my floor. They also told me I did not read the manual. I tried to tell them that I did. They refuse to help me replace my floor that their product destroyed.

sales person
Your door to door sales people suck! They try to weasel their way in even after you tell them you are not interested. I told this young girl (who's boss was waiting in a van out in front of my house) that I was not interested at least 4 times. I finally had to shut the door in her face. This is exactly why I won't buy a Kirby vacuum cleaner. I hate sales people coming to my house. Trust me if i want to buy something I go looking for it. I will NEVER buy a Kirby vacuum. STOP DOOR TO DOOR SALES IT MAKES YOU COMPANY LOOK REALLY REALLY BAD!!!

employment fraud/ false advertising
I'm sorry that I did not do the research on this before it happened but the situation is that my boyfriend has been out of work for 3 months and money was getting tight so he seen an ad in the paper for kirby and the ad said GUARANTEED $500 a week. So he called and decided to check into it because we needed the money. He went to the interview and they hired him then and there. Told him he was only putting vacuums together and not selling them that he would be paid every saturday reguardless of if his crew leader sold one or not. Then the 2nd day he was told the same thing. the first day out on the field they decided to tell him he had to get 15 shows a week to get paid well upon hearing this we thought it better to ask around and yes that was true so basically he worked all day that day 12 hours for nothing. They lied to him and THEN told him if he did not bring the stuff back in after he quit they would call the police and sure enough they did. So I'm thinking who in the world would want to steal a couple vacuum attachments some dirty rags and some manuals. He had to get another job we have a family to feed and it became clear after a few days they had lied big time and he was not getting paid. We simply did not have the time to return the stuff in a timely manner and so after all they put him through and the lies they told him they had the nerve to call the cops pathetic!

Salesmen LIE
I was told by the salesmen that they (Kirby Vacuums) belonged to Th American Heart and Lung Asso. and that if you have Problems with things such as Asthma that it would be a taxe rite off and that the Goverment would rememburst you the cost of the vacuum, so because I struggle with asthma and they told me that I bought the Vacuum ( which I could not afford but because of this program I would be able to get rememburst I did) when it came down to collecting on this I found out that there is NO such thing. I tried to call corperate on this matter only to find out that there is NO corperate all of the businesses are all independent and don't have to answer to anyone and can hire anyone and say anything that they want to and get away with it. I would not recommend Buying one because of the company behind the product or I should say the lack of one, that they can say anything and get away with it because they aren't responsibile for what their salesmen say.

Cancellation of Contract
I cancelled contract, stopped payment on check, and have been harassed and threatened with letters and phone calls. I have told them to take it to court but after 5 months still threats.

Inexplicable company
Kirby Vacuum is very inexplicable. The first time I had received my vacuum cleaner from them, it worked great. I had no problems with it whatsoever. I couldn't ask for anything more than that. It was the best quality ever absolutely first-rate. They even sent accessories to last me years. After a couple of months, it started giving me some problem. I called the original number of Kirby and I wouldn't get through. Then I had to give it to a local repair shop and they said that the part that was giving problem was not an original part. I was so annoyed and felt I was cheated by Kirby. I don't know if they are still in business because I never get through their number and do not get any replies. I will see that I warn all my friends about them if at all they are still in business.

sales tactics
Do not do business with them. Kirby is strictly a franchise business. JRB Enterprises is owned by some dumb spoiled kid named Joshua Bragg. The door to door sales witch is Jane Reagen. She will tell you every lie in the book, will not leave when asked repeatedly to do so. He does not have a license to do business in maryland at all and does not obtain the required door to door sales licenses required by each county. The will trespass into your community even though "No Soliciting" is clearly posted. But poor daddy Matthew covers for his scum bag son and probably always has. And poor Jane, she's so dumb this is the only job she can get? They are as low as low can be.
Don't believe me? Look them up and you will see what I say is true. Karma

Awful experience
Icor Engineering, a.K.a 'Kirby' vacuum sweepers recruits under false promises, lies by omission, reps go out without business license and are required to have one. Hard for potential employee to research under their a.k.a names, which are nationwide (and all different)... like sub companies. Hard to believe Warren Buffet owns parent company and Scott Fetzer (Fetzer wineries) I believe owns this franchise. I plan to report them to the District Attorney, as well as will proceed to enlist class action suit nationwide. After reading many reports negative about Kirby, each report reflects at least one experience I had and everyone in our class. None of which are left after two weeks. Kirby should be fined heavenly for the misuse and predatory manner of their hiring practices. They promised we were on a W-2 (later it was a 1099). They had us bring in our drivers licenses and drivers licenses and complete paperwork (not protecting them from their practices) but asked several times for copies of what we signed, as did others and they would not provide. They said we would have a company vehicle to use, but it had to be returned by the end of each day... it turned out to be a broken down old van. The 'crew leader' drives the five or six of you dumped into the van and dumps you off in some neighborhood to hoof it from 11:00 AM to sometimes midnight, while he sits somwhere with Kirby's in the van awaiting a call from a rep that they have a demo lined up in some home. No facilities to use. You have to ask the homeowner to use their restroom. We were told leads would be provided to us. Wrong. Our leads were knocking on doors and being expected to do 72 demos per month to get a $2, 600 guarantee base. Impossible!!! Kirby owns you from Tuesday through the week-end, and then you have Monday off. Only then can you hit referral business you may have personally. Their sales techniques are hard sell and actually tell you to gently push through the potential customer's front door, when opened and get in quickly by commenting on their carpet.
The employees there looked like they just got out of jail. The most unprofessional group I have ever seen. The 'manager' was a greasy, but wealthy, sack of wind and must have sold many used cars.
