We have a top of the line SS Kitchenaid, side by side, cabinet depth refrigerator... actually, we have had two in less than three years. The first was delivered, brand new, out of the box with defects in three of the major sub assemblies. The thing didn't work at all. The retailer of course sent us to Kitchenaid customer service. They sent a rep out to "repair". The rep told us there was so much wrong that he suggested we request a new machine... we did. Kitchenaid refused and gave us a cold shoulder. They did however, give us $75 for spoiled meat. We refused their demand that we accept a "repaired brand new refrigerator and complained to the retailer, to whom I explained, I purchased the malfunctioning device. They were better than Kitchenaid...they replaced it.
Now, one year plus a few months later, the ice maker stopped working. The appliance company charged about $100 to inspect and report that the circuit board was defective. So we ordered a new one from them. $196 later the new circuit board is in but now the ice maker motor is defective and must be replaced. Hmmm...Kitchenaid. NEVER AGAIN. They are the worst appliance I have ever had and their customer service attitude is completely non-existent.
