March 25th, I was expecting the gas company to turn on service at a business
location. I was told they would call me at 765-455-8679 between 12-4pm in 15 minutes
advance. I am literally 2 minutes away from the location.
I had the phone with me at all times, waiting. I remember looking at the clock at 1230
and again just after 1pm.
At about 2 pm, I decided to call in, just because I was anxious to get the service turned
on so the water company could do their thing when they came out. I was then told that
they had already came and went, tried calling me at 1:07 and I would be charged
$40 reschedule fee. Their records showed they called me and there was no answer.
First, I have caller ID, I have an answering machine and I do not have call waiting (if
someone was on phone it would have been busy) although I never was on the phone all day
until I called in. No message was left, nothing showed up on my ID, phone never rang.
The "supervisor" basically called me a liar. I ask that they look at the phone history of
this person who supposedly called me. they either never called or dialed the
wrong number. It happens. Admitt it, and do not charge me $40. Maybe this is a regular
occurance, easy $40, I'd say and of course, what is the customer to do when you are the
only gas company?
