To Whom It May Concern:
For the last several years, ERAI, its principals and employees have been the target of an intense smear campaign orchestrated by an individual who seeks to bring harm to ERAI, its principals, employees and any person or business who interferes with the perpetrator’s ominous cyber attacks. For a long period of time, ERAI was more or less exclusively the primary target of these libelous broadcasts. Now, numerous businesses are among the victims of these often-times unprovoked outbursts.
ERAI is frequently asked why these posts have been and continue to be made. Simply put, due to the nature of our organization which involves monitoring, investigating, reporting, and mediating issues affecting the global supply chain of electronics, it is not uncommon to have companies that have been reported by ERAI attempt to discredit our organization. The hundreds of posts that are currently visible on the Internet have been made by one individual using dozens of Internet screen names. Because the Internet provides bloggers with a cloak of anonymity, a person can create the illusion of numerous disgruntled or concerned individuals when that is simply not the case. The author of these posts is an individual that was reported by ERAI for selling faulty material. He made numerous threats against ERAI and its employees both during the investigation and after he was reported.
It helps to have a better understanding of our organization in order to understand the motivation of these types of criminals. Founded in 1995 and incorporated in 1996, ERAI is a privately held trade organization that has been the industry's primary reporting and investigation service supplying information, mediation and risk mitigation solutions to electronics professionals worldwide. Membership to ERAI is open to franchised and independent distributors, OEMs, OCMs, CMs, test houses, government agencies and associations serving the industry. ERAI is actively involved in a number of committees and task forces that are addressing the issue of counterfeit parts in the global supply chain of electronics.
There are a number of reasons why counterfeiting has become so rampant in the last few years, such as the breakdown of trade barriers among countries with less restrictive IP laws, the green initiatives that have led to more e-waste and easy access through the Internet to market and sell material easily. Counterfeiting has become a global issue affecting multiple industries from electronics to golf clubs, pharmaceuticals and tobacco, among others. It is particularly troubling to ERAI since counterfeit electronics can not only affect individuals’ health and safety, but could even be a threat to national security. Every industry has been affected and ERAI is working diligently to address the problem in the electronics sector and to offer solutions to this very serious issue. Unfortunately, we have to accept the fact that the Internet creates an audience for individuals to post information that is entirely false, inaccurate and without merit.
ERAI is uniting the industry in addressing issues that are plaguing the market and we hope you can be part of the solution with us.
ERAI deeply regrets the frustration and/or confusion these cyber attacks have caused. Despite the difficult obstacles ERAI must sometimes face, it will continue to provide the valuable information and services its Members have come to rely upon to make the most informed business decisions possible. ERAI remains committed to serving its customers with the integrity and professionalism the semiconductor industry has come to expect.

Stay away from Mafia
ERAI CHINA network had strong base of Chinese vendors over 300 who sell counterfeit, pirated, substandard electronic components to their counterparts in America. In past few years many Chinese vendors from Guiyu, Chaoyang, Shenzhen, Shantao have had opportunity to join premium league of ERAI network managed by Kristal Snider, Mark Snider and Terry Lively. With support of ERAI network, it became easy for chinese to approach their American counterparts to sell their illegal produce which is often less than 1/4 of manufacturer's price.
Kristal Snider and Mark Snider lost no time in networking and connecting their Chinese ERAI members and American ERAI members which bought them escrow fees, visual inspection fees for known counterfeits for mission critical military, space, civil aviation and navy equipments.
2000 Dollar worth Chips started rolling out for 100$ which American ERAI members bought and sold for little less than franchise price, with the perfect visual certification of ERAI, IDEA, ISO-9001 etc. Many such merchandise are still waiting in shelves to be replaced once maintenance schedule or fault comes up with present equipment.

And 100s of more who are responsible for over 1 billion dollar worth of counterfeit and piracy business in a year. Most parts comes in America by way of smuggling and faked invoices which are prepared by ERAI china office along with escrow documents. None of these vendors have export authorization.
These American companies basically seek protection and do secured transaction with the help of agencies like ERAI, IDEA, who do visual inspection for known counterfeits, and provide escrow services for financial safety.
Moreover 2/3 of ERAI members in America buy counterfeits all the time which are obviously meant for selling to respective customers in that particular industry and segments. (while 95% Chiense ERAI members sell counterfeits) Military fakes are meant to be sold to NASA, BAE, PENTAGON. Recently, USBID, V&C TECHNOLOGIES, AERI, VISION TECH, WORLD EXPRESS, WORLD MICRO SOURCE, TYTRONIX have sold millions of worth counterfeits well documented, but ERAI, IDEA still choose to help them, because they do not want to loose subscription and escrow revenue.
Another domestic scam in America:: Companies like Carlin Systems are involved in converting commercial parts to military parts merely by performing few basic tests and faking test results to appease their OEMs in case of obsolete parts. There are many more American companies buy commercial parts with the help of Terry lively and Kristal snider, which are being risked with military tests, some of them even pass those basic tests, with these results and test reports such commercial parts are passed on to military OEMs as military parts with 10 fold price..
Now we know how many pentagon equipments, fighter planes, ships and missiles are today laced with counterfeits, faked military parts, which are mostly supplied by ERAI CHINA AND ERAI AMERICAN members.
It is billion dollar industry in which 100s of brokers in China, USA are involved along with Mark snider, Terry lively and Debra of IDEA.
Debra of IDEA helped USBID in rolling millions of worth counterfeits till year 2008, she is still supporting companies like AERI who again buy all their merchandise from China. IDEA-1010 certification of Debra is perfect visual inspection standard to approve improvised, cosmetically refined fakes and counterfeits.
SMJ320C40GFM50 ( ORIGINAL PRICE 1800$ ) is very common military chip, traded among ERAI, IDEA members some of them even manage to label with ISO-9001 certification. Other common faked parts by ERAI affiliated brokers are LH0041CG/883. MC1590G, UA702HMQB, LM759MH/883, JM38510.. series, 5962... series, JAN, JANTX, and other /883 series which are faked on commercial or dummy parts.
Watch out if you buy from ERAI network who merely judge quality with ERAI tag and label. This is the network which is most active in trading counterfeits with ease and comfort of Snider's private certification. It will be no surprise if you get bogus, counterfeit parts with ISO-9001 label, IDEA-1010 certification or ERAI Tag.
These are just American stunts. Infact it is very likely that if you buy from American independent brokers, you will get Chinese counterfeits packed in American bags with American tags.
China's most counterfeits are fakes are routed all across the globe through ERAI affiliates and American independent brokers.
The days are gone when America used to be on top list of quality suppliers, but today things have changed, merely because brokers here cannot survive with high administration costs, tough competition with Asian companies and with shrinking profits. Only option for them is to become agents of 'Chinese flea markets.'
Almost every next American independent broker have now turned to "Chinese list broker" status who operate from small shops, basement, backyard or small office with erai affiliation. Don;t get lured by their websites which promises you heaven while selling you trash bought from China period.
Rest -it is better to steer clear from crooks like Kristal snider, Mark Snider, Terry lively who have turned America into counterfeit heaven for electronic components period.
fact: China cannot make genuine Analog Devices ADC, DAC or Intel CPUs, or TI Digital Signal processors, or ISOLATION Amplifiers, OR military OP-AMPS at fraction of price. How do you think Chinese erai members will supply 1800 $ worth for 100$ while maintaining 100% quality? Now the tangle is between QUALITY, CHEAP PRICE and SURVIVAL of American brokers, We all know which one they will choose to maintain luxurious lifestyle?
