Don't like employees with disabilitys
If you have a disability of any kind you have to fight then get them to make accommodations.
Then when they feel that your time is up, they start bullying and harassment til you go...
They don't follow the law, they just go around them...

Harassment by a 37 year Department head
There is a departement manager at Kroger Store #542 in Nashville Tn, On 61 E thompson Lane 37211, her name is Maggie Ijean Tinch, she is the Drug Gm Department head. I am a employee of kroger we will go only that for. She has harassed, bullied, made store management basically bow down to her because of her position of a Union steward, and been best friends with Joe Parks, the local 1995 union rep who will never call you back and is the best union rep money can buy. I have witnessed and experienced this womans gross unprofessinalism and threating of other employees including myself who am a department manager by the way. She is the senoir member of the cultural commitee with her cronies which is the ultimate raging hypocrisy and I can't take it anymore. This woman either needs to retire or transfer to another store because she is red handed guilty of the behavior we in the company preach so hard against and is a threat to all young and up and coming Kroger employees who have their eyes set on management with the skills and knowledge to bring profits to the table because I am one of them. She has to be stopped Maggie Ijean Tinch Drug Gm Department Manager Kroger Store #542

Sold spoiled meat and I became ill
I purchased a package of "Oven Roasted Turkry Breast" on March 22, 2011. My wife, son and I ate sandwiches that evening. By 3:00 AM, my wife and I were running to the bathroom with diarrhea. This gastrointestinal problems (gas pain and diarrhea) continued for 3 days. We had no idea that it was the Turkey which caused the problem. We talked w/our son on the second day... and he informed us that he, too, was having the same problem. When we opened the package (on the 5th day after purchase), the smell was unbelievable! I called the 1-800-632-6900 "Hotline" and informed them of the problem. I was told by "Kathy" that I should store the meat in the freezer... and someone would call me in a couple days. I didn't hear from Krogers (by Friday, March 25) so I called again. I was told by Kathy (again) that I wil hear something in a couple days. I have since called 4 more times... and no relief. It's always "... someone will be calling in a couple days..." Meanwhile, the bad turkey has permeated all of my frozen food. I took the horribly odoriferous turkey to the store where I purchased it (on Galloway Rd., Mesquite Tx.) and I spoke with the store manager, Karen. After waiting (30 min.) for her to call her Dist. Mgr., and make several calls to Corporate... Karen told me that they would give me a $25 coupon for my loss!!! I've lost more than $150 in food... and hours of aggravation on the phone dealing with people who really don't care. Karen informed me that she was not aware of any complaints. I spoke with two others (in the dept.) who told me the same. I've been a loyal customer of Kroger's for more than 35 years. All my family are Kroger shoppers. But, I will never walk into another Kroger store. In my business, I meet 6-8 new aquaintances every day. That's a lot of "word-of-mouth" advertizing. And I will broadcast this to every person I meet, and every website... and every medium that I have access to. The (alleged) case number which was assigned to this incident (by Kroger Corporate) is #10129447. The persons I've spoken with (at Corporate) are Kathy, Chelsea, Kim... and Karen. No last names, of course. Due to being passed around on the phone, I've forgotten a couple of their names. But I did ask that all calls be recorded. Corporate did not inform the Mesquite Kroger that there was a problem. The manager, Karen, asked that I give her the package and they would give me a coupon... and I could forget about it. I don't think so!!! And I promise, Kroger will not forget me (any time soon).

No cashiers open
Feeling the need to boycott Kroger. On Monday morning, the only cash register line open was self-serve. All those empty cashier lines!!! This is an outrage. Prices keep going up and they don't provide any customer service! Funny part is my local Jay-Cee store, also owned by Kroger, keeps 6 lanes open all the time.

POOR service!
Only thing changes at this store is the prices go up and the service goes down. I have been shopping at this store for 15 years and I am sorry to say it is now terrible. Many times items that are on sale are out of stock. Then when you talk to management all they do is tell you lies. Even the area manager is rude and no help just like the store managers. Then many of the employees are VERY rude and get upset if you even ask for help! Last week when I did my shopping about 40% of the sales items where out of stock as well as many bare selves. This is more times then not! You have to check your recite as many times they over charge you and do not give you the advertised discounts. Some items they have been out of stock for MONTHS! All they care about is taking your money at the poorest service they can give. If a supper Wal-Mart ever opens on this side of town they will loose much business. Most of my neighbors feel the same.

Store Employee/Customer Service
I went to this store and was buying an item that was marked reduced on the shelf. When I got to the check-out it randg up regular price. The cashier asked another employee to check the price on it and he got angry and called me a terrible name. I complained to the manager on duty that evening and then went to the company website to complain. I won't go into too much detail but I was very upset about how I was treated at the store. The company didn't even bother to address my concern. No more shopping at Kroger in Kempsville!!

What A Joke This Is
December 30, 2010
Return Policy
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE KROGER RETURN POLICY AND HOW THEY ADMINISTER REFUNDS OF ANY PURCHASES. It is apparent Kroger will do whatever it takes to avoid providing you with a refund, if the refund amount is over $10.00.
THE KROGER REFUND POLICY, AS IT APPEARS ON THEIR WEB SITE, IS NOTHING BUT A SELF-SERVING REFUND POLICY DESIGNED TO DEFRAUD CUSTOMERS BASED ON THE LANGUAGE USED. You can expect to receive the runaround without a straight answer when you attempt to OBTAIN A CLEAR DEFINITION OF THE KROGER RETURN POLICY.
On December 28, 2010 a purchase was made at a Kroger store for a New Year's Eve party. When learned the following day that not as much food was needed as the result of a cancellation by a group of guests. An attempt was made to return the unneeded items to Kroger.
The total amount of items to be returned was $131.98. When attempting to return these items Kroger customer service and management at 4 different stores stated that they would not refund the purchase due to the amount. Two managers stated that this was because customers steal items and then return them. That they were not accusing me of stealing, but that is why they would not make a refund. ONE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD DO ME A FAVOR BY REFUNDING APPROXIMATELY $20.00 OF THE ITEMS AS A COURTESY, BUT REFUSED TO REFUND THE ENTIRE AMOUNT.
As a result of this response the Kroger's customer service call center was contacted. They stated they could not assist with this issue, and to contact their regional office at (513) 712-3300 BECAUSE THIS POLICY IS BASED ON EACH INDIVIDUAL STORE DECIDING IF THEY WANTED TO ISSUE A REFUND. When contacting the regional office they stated that there was nothing they could do, that it was up the individual stores to determine.
However, the Kroger return policy clearly states;
"WHAT IF I WISH TO RETURN SOMETHING I PURCHASED AT A KROGER STORE?
Your returns are always welcome. All merchandise is guaranteed. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, we will gladly give you a refund, exchange, adjustment or credit to a Kroger Gift Card. Some exclusions apply."
Upon review of this return policy the Kroger's Corporate Office was contacted at (513) 762-4000 for a definition of "Some exclusions apply." They said that they did not know what the exclusions were.
NOTE: THIS IS WAS NOW THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE THAT CLAIMS NO ONE THERE KNOWS WHAT THAT STATEMENT MEANS or WHAT THE “EXCLUSIONS APPLY” TO.
I was then transferred back to the Kroger Customer Service department where I again asked for an explanation of what the exclusions were. Once again I was advised that they did not know and that I would have to call the regional office.
IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THIS IS A CATCH ALL FOR KROGER TO AVOID REFUNDING PURCHASES.
I was told by two out of four managers that they did not want to make a refund due to the amount of the refund because it went against the profit and loss statement for their store.
It is also clear that at the very least this is a catch all initiated by Kroger to avoid making refunds in the name of profits.
BY EXAMPLE AND COMPARISON OF A STRAIGHT FORWARD AND CLEARLY STATED RETURN POLICY OF A CREDIBLE COMPANY, THIS IS THE MEIJER'S RETURN POLICY:
"Meijer Return & Exchange Policy — For Purchases Made at a Meijer Store
Meijer honors General Merchandise returns within 90 days from date of purchase and when accompanied with receipt. After 90 days, manufacturer’s warranty applies. For computer and electronic items, returns must be made within 30 days. We cannot refund alcoholic beverages and opened packages of glucose blood monitors, collector sports cards, music and movies. However, damaged and defective items will be exchanged for an identical item. Ammunition must be returned within 24 hours of purchase.
WE ACCEPT RETURNED FOOD ITEMS WITH OR WITHOUT A RECEIPT INCLUDING MEAT, SEAFOOD, DELI, GROCERY, DAIRY AND FROZEN, PROVIDED THEY ARE NOT STATE APPROVED WIC ITEMS.**
We stand behind our name. Any product with the "Meijer" brand may be returned with or without a receipt, provided they are not state approved WIC items.**
**We are not able to provide refunds on state approved WIC items and formula without a receipt verifying the items were not part of a WIC transaction.
Returns without receipt are subject to lowest sale price."
BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE WITH KROGER'S I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU DO YOU SHOPPING ELSEWHERE, AND REVIEW ANY STORES RETURN POLICY PRIOR TO PATRONIZING THEM.
Again, after my experience with Kroger I would strongly suggest that you shop at any other store other than Kroger after reading this. I would also suggest you tell your friends and relatives about THIS KROGER POLICY.
Furthermore, be advised THAT I OBSERVED OTHER CUSTOMERS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE RETURNS AT KROGER WHILE WAITING FOR A MANAGER BEING LIED TO BY KROGER EMPLOYEE'S AS IT RELATES TO THEIR RETURN POLICY.
In support of that statement I observed the following: A person attempting to return items that were over $10.00 in value were told that the Kroger policy was that if the return was over $10.00 they would not accept such a return. HOWEVER, the Kroger return policy as clearly stated on their web site states that;
“WHEN YOU RETURN MERCHANDISE OVER $10 WITHOUT A RECEIPT TO A KROGER FAMILY STORE, WE'LL ADD THE VALUE OF YOUR RETURNED MERCHANDISE TO YOUR CARD."
This $10.00 reference refers to returns over $10.00 without a receipt, and further states that in the case that a person does not have a receipt that they will be given a gift card for any amount over $10.00.
IT IS CLEAR THAT KROGER DOES NOT HONOR THEIR OWN POLICIES, AND THAT KROGER WILL DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO AVOID PROVIDING A REFUND BY REFUSING TO CLEARLY DEFINE ITS POLICIES AND GIVE CUSTOMERS THE RUN AROUND IN AN ATTEMPT TO FRUSTRATE THEM UNTIL THE CUSTOMER JUST GIVES UP.
MY SUGGESTION: Find ANY another alternative to Kroger and do not shop with them until they clearly define their return policy, honor their return policy, and STOP USING LOOPHOLES TO GET AROUND PROVIDING YOU WITH REFUNDS THEY CLEARLY STATE ON THEIR WEB SITE THAT THEY WILL PROVIDE.

Kroger Discriminates

Wrongful dismissal
My son (a teenager) has a seizure disorder and takes medication to control it. The medication makes him a bit slower than normal. Kroger management (Heath - not sure about a last name) was informed of this when they interviewed and hired him. I was under the impression that Kroger was a good company for kids with disabilities. It is NOT!!! He was fired today after only one month of employment even though his manager admitted that he has improved his performance since being hired. My son is devastated and I am going to contact the union and an ATTORNEY!!!

Employee Complaint
I am an employee at Kroger branch 675. I feel as though the courtesy clerks are taken advantage of and paid hardly any respect. I realize the courtesy clerks' job includes more than bagging on the front end. The baggers are the stores custodial staff, the ones who run errands for the managers, the ones who push the buggies in throughout the entire day, and the ones who clear the parking lot of carts each night (this is assigned to one person). I realize this is part of the job and that's why this isn't my complaint. The managers at Kroger branch 675 don't respect the courtesy clerks in the slightest. Many times I've seen the managers take advantage if the baggers by asking them to go outside to push in buggies when they've just came in. Note that it has been extraordinarily hot this summer. 30 minutes on the lot sure does take it out of you. The managers ignore this and complain when we take our rests after pushing in a long line. They're fortunate no one has dropped from dehydration yet. The baggers have gotten sick in the parking lot, and are told to go sit down for 5 minutes and then get back to work. My outstanding complaint is not exactly about the parking kit but instead a matter if respect where it's due. The baggers contribute a kit to the store and I believe they deserve respect to a much higher degree than the managers are giving them.
As a footnote, the new manager up front has prompted me to finalize this complaint because she's just crossed the line in disrespect. I appreciate your consideration.

Bad service
On appx Aug 18 I purchased a 35-piece boneless Buffalo wing entree. I counted it when I got home and found it to contain only 27 pieces.
On Aug 20 I returned a bottle of horseradish that I hadn't noticed to be already opened when I purchased it. I mentioned to the manager(?) that my chicken wing count was so far off. I did NOT have my receipt for the chicken - probably forgot it at the self checkout.
The manager(?) scanned my shopper's card and offered me 60 cents for the missing chicken stating they had been marked down to 10 cents per wing. I protested that I had paid $8.99 for the wings and that she could see that on the computer screen in front of her. (Yeah, I know, her math was off.)
She replied in a very smartalek fashion that she was trying to help me out and that without my receipt...
As if she didn't have a record of my purchase in front of her. As if I was truthful about the count but not about the price I paid. As if any company can afford to alienate a customer.
So I bought the things I absolutely needed right away and left. I don't plan to go back - not to any Kroger - unless I receive an apology and more reasonable compensation.
This chain drove my wife to Giant Eagle quite some time back. I used to favor Kroger because their stores are more conveniently located to our home and most of my shopping is quick trips for small purchases. But it's not much trouble to drive past a Kroger to find a store that seems to value their customers.
