pharmacy
My sister is a pharmacist at Kroger. It seems the Kroger phamacys are under going a software change to their computers and everything is new. Not only new, but out dated, slow and cumbursome. Even if you have the best knowledge of the system it still is setting the pharmacy's back light years... My sister can fill an rx at her ndc store with the usual wait time of 30 mins. i think her store does about 700 rx's per day. That is a good wait time.. I just read on Kroger's complaint page of the wait of 2 and 1/2 hours for an rx.. That is sooo sadd...Its because of this new eprn system that sucks for busy stores. Its appsolutley the worst SETBACK KROGER WILL EVER SEE.. I am in the busiest pharmacy the company, and all those around us, i have yet to hear a possitive comment on the eprn system.. Pharmacys shut the gates for 2 hours to catch up, and stay 2 hours past closing to catch up.. Double the staff which adds hours to payroll, triple patients wait times. I ask you what is the advantages to the eprn system?

Awful customer service
The problem is most of the Customer Service reps can be jerks and have noticed they complain a lot on individual customers. There have been criminal situations by friends of this particular Kroger that often throw rocks during the day or night at individuals they dislike. Anger management issues, half the workers are simply drunks that are disgusted with anyone or anything "customer related."

Lies, lies, lies
I was "banned" from a kroger grocery store because store management said that I was harassing her employees when all along the problem was with the one of the managers calling me a bad name! I contacted the corporate office several times by email and no one responded! And right to this day no one has contacted me concerning these matters! I emailed them of course and they would always respond by email apologizing but never discussed anything with me about the problems and would always get my phone numbers!
I have been shopping at this store for some years and do not accept this decision! Why didn't I get "banned" from all the other years I have shopped there? The store is a good store they just have the wrong management who do not know how to deal with their customers! On Tuesday October 30th I went into the store and had some problems at the self checkout and I ended up having words with the same manager I always have a problem with as I was leaving the store! She said that she was going to make a report and have me banned the next time I come into the store!
She told me she was off on Wednesday October 31st and to come in on Thursday to see what will happen! I didn't think nothing of it because I feel she was the problem! And I was not coming in the store just to harass her like she was saying! I don't know what she said or what she wrote! The other store manager approached me while at the pharmacy picking up my medicine and asked me could she talk to me and I said yes! We went over to the side and told me that I have been banned from her store because I have been a problem to them! And then they were laughing as I was leaving! The managers that is!
They were the only ones I have had problems with because one of the managers is very immature and I acted accordingly! So, to me this problem can go both ways and was uncalled for to have me banned! After all I don't even understand what banned means! The manager told me if I didn't leave she would call the police! And I was like ok! But the thing of it is I was doing nothing and they came to me when I was minding my own business! During the whole time while shopping in the store no one bothered to pull me over to the side to talk to me then!
And corporate office are so unconcerned about the situation and their customers!

fired unjustly
In December 2008 days before the Christmas holiday I was called up to the office in my place of employment, the manager Ms Yolanda Coleman and an investigator she had brought in proceeded to inform me that I was being Suspended for "Stealing Kroger Time" several days earlier.I asked what she was talking about and she and the investigator told me that I had taken an additional break from which I hadnt punched the time clock for.I told Ms Coleman this was an obvious mistake and that I didnt remember taking any addictional break and if I had it was unintentional .I requested that she deduct the alleged time from my weekly hours to make up for the alleged extra break.Ms Coleman declined to do so and I was sent away on suspention. After being on suspention through the christmas holiday and well into the new year I was finally called by Kroger to come in for a meeting regarding my suspension. When I got there a lady from HR (Human Resources) was there as well as a the 'so called' Union representative as well as Ms Coleman. The lady from HR interrogated me for some time asking repeatedly why I had taken this alleged extra break and why hadnt I punched the time clock.I told this person as well as the Union rep. and Ms Coleman I didnt remember taking this alleged extra break and that I was sorry if I had done so, could they just take the alleged extra break out of that weeks pay, just like I had told them months before when they had placed me on suspention. They said that they were going to discuss it and for me to wait down stairs outside the office.A few minutes later the Union Rep. came down from the office and told me that either they would fire me or I could sign a letter of resignation and they wouldnt contest any Unemployment request, allso they would allow me my one week paid vaction check due me anyways because I had worked there for a over a year with Full time status .Feeling hopeless I figured I must take the lesser of the two evils and sign the letter of resignation that they had writen for me.( I wish I hadnt done that but the Union Rep. told me this was the best thing for me to do and that I should just start looking for another job rather than seeking Unemployment )Now this is really screwed up cause Krogers policy states that first an employee is given a verbal warning for such an offence then you are writen up (so the violation is on paper) next I beleave that they give the employee like a week suspention next offence is another longer suspention like thirty days etc etc .Knowing this than why did they skip over any and all correct company procedures and go straight for the kill?Kroger lied, they did contest my unemployment which I ended up eventually getting months later anyways but the amount I receive is sure small and I struggle day to day especially with Our going into this economic recession .I feel I was wronged by Kroger and by Ms Coleman and the Detective, allso the Union Rep. and by the HR lady. What gives?

Customer service
This Kroger store has the worst customer service than any other's I've experienced. The employees there act like we're some kind of obligation to them while they are between calls on their cell phones.
The selection has dwindled to what Kroger wants you to have, since they push their own products.
I had the worst experience last night. The store was busy, and only 2 lanes were open. Because of the long lines, a Kroger employee told us that we could check out at the express lane. While we were waiting, the cashier rudely said that we had too many groceries and to find another line. She ignored us when we told her that a kroger employee told us to go to that lane. After she was finished with the cusotmer she had, she REFUSED to check us out.
We left, but on the way out, after a nasty comment from myself (no cussing), was plain RUDE. My attitude was in response to the lack of service I was receiving..and the cashier's attitude. The supervisor, was in agreement with the cashier. We couldn't find the employee that told us to go to the express lane, but the point is that we were given rude treatment from the beginning.
With this type of service, it's only a matter of time before companies like this file bankruptcy. They can for all I care. It's about time for customer service to make a comeback, and employees who are deliberately rude should be terminated.

poor service
3:40am - went to kroger to get a frozen pizza. chose one, went to the checkout. only USCAN machines were open. scanned my one item (frozen pizza). the total bill is $6.58. I put in a $20 bill for payment. The machine gives me back 2 5's and a 1. ($11.00) -- and says something like "See cashier" or "see attendant" or something. I stand next to the attendant station until someone comes to see why I'm standing there (another 5 minutes or so). I explain that they still owe me $2.42. The attendant says I will have to come back in an hour when the manager is here to get my change. I tell her that is unacceptable and that I wish to speak to a manager. Some manager comes. His last name starts with an N (I forget). I tell him I just want my change, and he says that is not possible. Repeats the same crap about me needing to wait for the store manager that comes in at 5am. I explain to him that I have a flight to catch and would he please stop messing around and either give me my change or a refund (my pizza is thawing out). He refuses to refund my money and will not give me any change. I have worked at a grocery store before and I know the attendant has a till and could easily give me my change and be done with it. I ask him for the number for the corporate office. He leaves and does not return for another 20 minutes. He gives me some customer service number that doesn't let me talk to anyone. I have now been standing there for 45 minutes and no one will help me. My driver is getting upset because we need to leave soon or I will miss my flight. Finally the store manager (Sandy) shows up at 5am and refunds my order from the till that was there the whole time. She offers no apology and is visibly annoyed that I no longer want the item. I am now an hour behind schedule, hungry, and extremely angry.

Slow cashiers & annoying baggers
Since I have moved to goshen, I have always hated going to the local kroger. I work third shift at one of the warehouses down in milford, and I stop in this kroger generally 3-5 times a week. I used to like it, but now I can't stand it due to a few cashiers and baggers.
First off, there is this very short woman, probably in her mid sixties. I believe her name is pat or patty or something. She is slooooooow. Once I went through her line with my wife, and it literally took us 15 minutes for a $150 order, because she thouroughly reads all of the coupons. And I have noticed that she only uses one hand to scan groceries, which just seems very odd to me. Also, at one point I bought a pack of cigarrettes and she ID'd me (even though I'm in my thirties and definitely look like it), which made me mad for the rest of the day. I would avoid her line if at all possible.
Second, there is a taller woman with dark hair, I believe her name is Ruth. Every time I come through her line with an order, she will stop scanning and start talking, and I'm guessing she forgot that she is at work. I don't know how, she just does. She is loud, rude, obnoxious, and honestly does not come off as being very intelligent. I would also avoid her line.
Now for some of Kroger's famous baggers, since they're the last grocery store that has them.
First, there is a middle-aged woman who I can guess is slightly mentally retarded. She is basically a zealot, and if you talk to her, she will preach to you. And by preach, I mean tell you that you are going to hell. I have seen the look on some of the cashier's faces when this happens, and they just look extremely annoyed. I don't blame them, since this woman scared the living hell out of my oldest son (who is four) by telling him in great detail of what happens to people when they go to hell. I do not see why kroger will not just fire her, because I have heard from people that she has tons of customer complaints against her, and that she is generally a worthless employee.
Second, there is an older gentleman, who looks to be in his forties, and he is just generally weird. I was walking in the parking lot with my youngest son (who is two), and he started BARKING AT US. Honestly, who hires someone that barks at people? Also, I have heard him cursing, and at one point he did so in front of my older son which angered me. Kroger, once again, why do you keep these people?
Although I generally dislike this store, there are a few cashiers and baggers who work there that are actually nice and that I always see doing their job:
-A short middle aged woman with brown hair
-A short girl cashier with curly hair
-A short male cashier with black hair
-A tall female cashier with auburn hair
-A short girl cashier with black hair & piercings
-A tall male cashier with blonde hair
-A tall male bagger with a dirty blonde mohawk
-A tall male bagger with curly brown hair
-A tall male bagger with red hair
So kroger, if you were to read this, I would fire the people that I have given long descriptions of. I am pretty sure that it would make everyones shopping experience more enjoyable. As for the people that I gave short descriptions of, they deserve a medal for putting up with the crap from your more annoying employees. Honestly if I didnt live so close I would probably go shop at wal mart or meijer.

coupons
I brought some items at the Kroger store and use my coupon at the store they only give me face value of the coupons. They would not double or triple my coupon like their sale sheet shows. This is the only Kroger store in the southwest area will not triple or double coupon like they advertise.

This involves two complaints - two separate times- at the same store
I purchased a frozen turkey at kroger (approx. 14lbs) and set it in cold water to thaw so I could cook it the day after. When I opened the turkey it was still partially frozen but smelled terrible.
I called the store and they told me I could bring it in for exchange.
When I went in to get another one I could not find one that was in the same size/price range as the one I was returning, and also noticed the paper was torn on another turkey- when I looked closer I could see the skin looked old, dried up, or freezer burned.
I decided I would just get some other groceries that amout to the same I paid for the turkey.
When I went to check out with groceries that totaled more than the amount they owed me, they refused to allow me to use my money that way. They said it had to be another turkey- I told them about the size/price/ and condition of those turkeys and I did not want one. They said I would have to call the next day to speak with another manager about it.
So far I am sitting without my turkey, without my money (almost $17.00), and have been inconvenienced with my time, and cost of gas to travel back and forth to their store for nothing. So far I am up to putting 35 miles on my car for this rediculous handling of the situation.
Three days later and I am sitting here waiting for management to call me back to see what they are going to do about it. I will not accept anything less than my money back, or to buy groceries of my own choice that total the amount I lost. This of course will cost me even more time and money since I have to drive back and forth once again. I'm sure it would be ludicrous of me to think they might do something to make up for extra inconvenience, aggravation, and money this is costing me traveling back and forth.
Still waiting ...
-------------------
I didn't complain about this other incident, but I was really angry about it. It involved both of my daughters ...
My eldest daughter, at 30 years of age, married and with 3 children .. visited the same kroger to buy food for a cookout, and some beer for her husband.
My younger daughter (17 yrs) was with her.
At the checkout, the casier told my daughter she was not going to let her buy the beer. When she asked "why not" the cashier told her it was because my other daughter was under age!!
My daughter told her, look I am 30 years old as you can see on my ID and it is perfectly legal for me to buy beer. I come in here with my children that are much younger than my sister and have never been refused the right to purchase beer!
The casher simply told her, well I don't feel comfortable with it!
All the manager had to say about it was that if the cashier doesnt feel comfortable selling the beer then she can refuse to do so.
There was absolutely no reason for their behavior in that store. They humiliated my daughter with a line of people behind her and it was completely uncalled for.
So a cashier that is having a bad day can take her mood out on customers by embarrassing them and refusing to sell a 30 year old beer!
-------------------
I'll wait on my turkey ordeal and then I think I am done with this store.. I have been shopping kroger for years and give that store a lot of business on a weekly basis, and have NEVER returned a thing before this.
They do not treat their customers well at all.

Slow checkout, too few cashiers
I went to my local Kroger at 2:15 to buy pizza, bread, and stamps. The lines waiting for cashiers had several people in them, but the customers had around 20 items. I decided to go through the U-scan to get out quickly. I wanted to buy only 3 items and some stamps, but I had coupons, so they require an attendant to scan my coupons and get stamps. The attendant was busy with someone else. I waited several minutes, but she wasn't going to finish up quickly. Someone else came to help her, but she refused help, saying that she would get me in a minute. I walked away from the groceries that I had already scanned because I couldn't get service. I come to the store to get out quickly, not wait around. They need to retrain their attendants to get customers out quickly and to accept the help if offered. They need more than 3 cashiers on duty at 2 in the afternoon. They need to call someone from customer service when an issue comes up that will take time to deal with, rather than causing everyone else to wait. I went to Randall's and get my groceries and stamps. I am shopping at Kroger less and less because I can't get out quickly.
