We purchased a house that has Thermatru Fiberglass entry doors. The house was built in 2002 and we purchased it in 2006. The leaded glass insert in the Thermatru door started to get condensation in it and the stain started to peel off the entire door and the side panels. I contacted Thermatru and they would not deal with me because I am not the originally purchaser. They told me to go the dealer, Krzyske Brothers Company, which I did. Krzyske Brothers Company tried to get the Thermatru rep to come and look at our door, but the rep never came. After many calls to the dealer and stopping in to talk to them several times, I got a voicemail that said to call Thermatru. Thermatru will not assist us and the dealer blew us off. We stripped the door and tried to restain it. It looked awful so we contacted the dealer and asked for a referral for a contractor. We hired a contractor to restain the door. The contractor had the same problem in that the stain is not adhering to the door properly. The door looks awful and the leaded glass panel is leaking. It looks like our only option now is to paint the door and to try and seal the leaded glass panel. I would not mind paying to have this door fixed properly but can't find anybody qualified to do this and I am not paying another contractor to do a substandard job. Yes, we had to pay the contractor for his time and materials even though he did not fix it properly. I am very upset with the runaround between Thermatru and this dealer. I would not recommend purchasing a Thermatru door or will not buy from this dealer again.
